New Seats!!!

My original seats were amazingly torn up and water damaged. Luckily I found a source for free seats... and all I had to do was fix a broken power window! (Put the missing bolts back in the regulator ) The seats are from a '94 GMC Jimmy, they have lumbar support adjustment, and the best part is they aren't ripped!

Yep, The rails are different, so the rails have to be swapped also, but it is a direct swap. I've heard many bucket seats from the 80's and 90's are direct bolt-in's requiring nothing more than a rail swap, but I've only done S-series. Bolted right up, took maybe an hour for both sides going slow.

Only problem is, my seats were from a 4-door, so they don't flip forward for easy access to the rear... But people can still get back there if I scoot the seat forward all the way first.

Those look nice but I don't really like those horizontal lines too much.

I'm kind of confused. Isn't that little lever on the side near the bottom the one that let's the seat flip forward?

Yes, but he means that the seat won't just flip forward without touching anything like the stockers will, he has to use the lever to move the back forward and then he'll have to adjust his seat again on the Jimmy seats. That would drive me nuts.

Unlike a Camaro bucket seat, these 4-door Jimmy seats do not go any more forward than full upright. The lever on the side does adjust reclining, but the seatback will not flip any farther forward than full upright, so for the rare backseat passenger , I have to use the front lever to scoot the seat forward so there is enough room for a person to scramble into the back...

It doesn't really matter to me, more than one passenger is a rare occurence.

Looks decent. They're from right around the same time era as our cars, so it blends well. Can't complain for free. I wouldn't be worried about the seats reclining forward either. I pretty much consider my car as to not having rear seats, because putting people back there constantly just tears up the interior anyways.

uhmm why would there be no red interior option on a jimmy ? there is a black jimmy about 1986 or so across the street from here it is red interior

red interior is one of the most common colors

im confused ?

neat to know that just swapping rails will allow us to use so many other seats

wow..

now i can find some blue ones to replace my blue PMD's so i can toss them, because i hate them

shoul;d be able to find an 80's blue interior chevy or gmc s-series truck somewhere for parts

thanks

You could probably take the bracket that holds the of the seat bottom to the back of the seat and adjusts the back recline and swap it for your camaro one. That way it would function like the camaro seats. I had to swap mine on my blaizer b/c the back wouldnt come up.

I considered opening the seats up farther to see if I could either swap or modify the seats to make them work like the maro seats, but then I decided my V6 doesn't have enough power to carry more than 2 human beings anyway..

Really, backseat passengers just aren't common for me.

I didn't think '88 Z28s existed?

A quick trip to the Tech Data yields this:

1988 Chevy Camaro '88

Chevrolet Camaro Z28 model dropped and replaced by the1988 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z28. (although interior dash badge still read `Z28 IROC-Z', rather than just `IROC-Z' as on exterior badges)

Well my car originally came with the L03 and the T5, the title said Z28 and the car had Z28 Badges, so im still unsure but im putting the Z28 badges back on it so i like to consider it my own 88 Z28. I think it was a very early 88 production car or really late 87 production car IDK.

Thats interesting that your title would specify the Z28 option. Both of mine merely say Camaro Coupe.
