A few small touches on my girlfriend's IROC
My girlfriend Krista got an '87 IROC-Z a few weeks ago, as some of you know.
Anyways, she dropped it off this past weekend to get the windows tinted (18% front, 5% back), and also to get the interior steam cleaned and have the visors/headliner repaired, and they also died the carpet tan since it had been sunfaded pretty badly. Both the tint shop and the upholstery shop did an outstanding job as usual. I've used both shops for all my cars and will continue to do so as they both do outstanding work. The upholstery shop even threw in the tan floor mats for free since they hated the black ones that were in it before
Also notice the clear side markers I installed on it the other day. Looks 10x better than the amber colored ones from the factory!
Next on the list for her car is a metallic red paint job and some ZR1's

Why in the world do you rub our noses in your awesome cars huh?
Gorgeous job. It's just too bad we don't have any good shops around here and I don't have the money to pay them.
I'll have to check back on your previous thread but if there aren't interior pics you got some before shots before they dyed the interior?

Checked other thread and that is DEFINITELY an awesome dye job. Always been nice to read your posts and threads, keep working and I'll keep dreaming.

cute chick, but the car has saggy butt, so either new isolators or springs are needed.

for the first time ever i dont think the clear sidemarkers look good. could be a bad pic, but they look too fresh for the car. i dno hard to explain. interior and tint looks great though. cant wait to tint mine.

I think the amber side markers look much better on the red car.
Also has the car been hit before?? The drivers side fender colour definatly does not match the door.

seems like the fender matches the quarter. maybe the door was what was replaced?

Are those white face guages on the instrument panel and if so where did you get them? Also is that a white overlay for the heater controls.

Thanks a lot guys.
To answer some questions:
I believe the saggy butt is from the springs, but I think I'll probably buy her a pro kit for her birthday in July so that will get fixed soon.
The clear side markers will look a lot better after the car is painted, since we're going with silver door decals and silver/gunmetal stripes.
I'll see if I can find the older thread to show the before pictures, I'll try and post a link to that when I get off work tonight after my bday dinner.
The car looks 2 toned because it is 2 toned. The front/rear bumpers and quarter panels are darker than the rest of the car. The rest of it looks salmon colored. It's not because the car was wrecked, it's from the paint recall with GM, they painted only the body parts that had faded, and now the rest of the car has faded. But we're painting it this summer with some sort of metallic red, so it'll be looking better in no time.
Yes those are white faced gauges, and they have a switch under the dash to turn them from blue to green. She loves them. And yea that's a white overlay for the heater controls. I didn't even know a company made those until she bought this car and it had it already installed.

Re: A few small touches on my girlfriend's IROC
if u put mine next to it you wont even be able to tell the difference except for tint. When you paint it, are you going to put the decals back on??. If so what color, and when are you going to paint it. I wanna see what it looks likle

Re: A few small touches on my girlfriend's IROC
Yep it's a factory Bose system car. The original head unit is in her garage, it still works great.
I don't know I'd have to ask her. Probably $250 with the tires or something I dunno.
Yea we're taking off the decals and stripes when we paint it because we're going to go with silver/gunmetal instead of gold. Gold doesn't look as good with clear side markers and chrome/silver wheels.

Well damnit Nick, hurry up and get some wheels on that. Now that my car is back together(did I tell ya yet!?), let's race to see who gets ZR1's on their car first.

Very nice car dude. That interior came out perfect. That sure will look nice with a repaint, springs, and the zr1s. Keep it up man.

Re: A few small touches on my girlfriend's IROC
Yea I saw that
Great movie by the way
Really? I'm supposed to be going on vacation to Gulf Shores, AL sometime in June. But maybe if you're here while I'm NOT on vacation, we can meet up?
If I could find a set of those with new tires on them for the price that I find regular ZR1's with tires on ebay, I would say yes.
Yea sure the regular ones need spacers but she's getting 2 for free since I've got a 4th gen 10 bolt for my car.
