That breaks up the yellow very nicely, I love it! Whatever you do on the hood will look amazing. I think you should paint the headlight buckets black though.

Re: Got My Stripes!
All I can say is ****, love the car and the stripes but I wouldn't do anything on the hood (it's my personal choice)!

I have to say again your car is so PURDY I would be scared to drive it. Too many idiot drivers in this world, I would have that car on my mantle

Re: Got My Stripes!
I liked it before... not saying it looks bad, but I just like it better before! I am also not a huge fan of stickers (vinyl) on cars that have been so well detailed with custom paint.

Re: Got My Stripes!
I've gotta agree. I like the idea, but the before pic in your sig looks better. Sorry, I don't care for them. The 383 emblem was a nice touch though.

I was thinking the same thing. Just the numbers on the cowl or nothing at all. It is perfect as is.

The curve at the front is kinda funky looking but I like it overall. And don't say you designed it, that general design was born in 69!!

Looks Good!
I think the black really does help break up the sea of bright yellow your car was before. With bright colors like that, you almost have to have something to break it up, like stripes, or black headlight pockets, or something dark...

and I wouldnt put the headlight buckets black....camaro's dont have black eyes, they give them!

Re: Got My Stripes!
I was gonna do something like that on my berlinetta before it got scrapped. However, i was gonna go a bit further along the car, almost to the end of the wheel well. The origin of the stripe is ofcourse first gens, but making it flow with a third-gen isnt easy.
Another suggestion, if youre gonna leave the gap, i would put the marker light in it, looks a little odd to me having the 383 right next to the marker. And put the 383 on the cowl. OR just take out the 383 and fill in the stripe.
Love the idea though, looks sharp. Your gonna have to do something to the hood now, looks a little plain.

Re: Got My Stripes!
LOVE IT! Personally, I would have left the amber lights, not put on the r i c e r clear side markers, divided the stripe on the markers, instead of the 383 emblems. Or have shaved the markers completely, and did the 383 emblems, as you did do.
Just IMHO.

I know what you guy's are saying but if you look at a'69 car then you will see why i did mine the way they are...I wanted them to be in the middle between the marker light and nose

Re: Got My Stripes!
Hey, i didnt realize the first gens did it the same way, i guess i never noticed cuz the marker light is so close. Anyways, looks real sharp whatever you choose to do. Btw, what size are your tires??? They look a bit different from the sig pix ive always seen.

I'd stop right there! That gives an awesome legendary touch on a sweet ride! Anything more than maybe the pockets if you like that - may push it across the line of too much IMO.
Great work, keep it up!

looks good. I personally would have tried something a bit different, having the stripes follow the natural curves of the nose or something..

Re: Got My Stripes!
some may say cheesy but, i think front and rear blackouts would set that car off awesome!! it would match the stripes and breakup the paint. even give it a more agressive look, try it it would look bad a** for sure.

Re: Got My Stripes!
It looks good but I don't like the positioning. I think they need to be moved back and where you have the 383 emblem that's where the marker lights need to be.
Re: Got My Stripes!
i think it looks fine as far as positioning, i think it needs to extend longer past the rear of the door maybe?
btw, it could be worse, could be just all yellow with cragars and sidepipes like someone i know

Re: Got My Stripes!
I love it. The stripe looks awesome but I knew something looked off I just couldn't pin point it. Personally, if I was going to put the 383 on there I would have done black to match the stripe. It's hard to see against the yellow and since it's sort of part of the stripe, I feel like it needs to be the same color. But regardless, that stripe looks awesome.
