I have used 3M General Purpose Adhesive Remover for years, works great!

how did you get the pinstripe off???

you can take a heat gun or hair dryer and a plastic razor blade

head down to your local paint/autobody supplier and get a 3M rubber pinstripe adhesive remover wheel. Its like a big rubber eraser thats hooks up to your drill and does not harm the paint. its like 15 bucks will last for years and years. It works so well the money is well well well well worth the price.

I've found wd40 to work well on removing adhesive, goo gone works good too, i'd try one of those and then use a claybar to clean up what's left, and finally finish it up with some wax
Does it have to be a plastic razor blade or will any razor blade work?

plastic razor blade won't damage the paint, a real razor obviously will.
3M General Purpose Adhesive Remover or Goo Gone will work magic. worst case senario a little bit of gasoline on a rag will work, but be careful because it will strip off any wax and will soften the paint.
After using any of the above mentioned products, a good wash and wax is absolutly nessessary.

Goo Gone works wonders, I use that on all the cars I detail and remove those stupid dealer stickers from.

IT would suprise you how well some waxes remove adhesives with elbow greace. I would take the plastic razer blade (or a long Fingernail) to it frist to get the bulk of it off and then start waxing. Some waxes work better then others so I wouldn't recomend going out and buying a bunch of new stuff just try the stuff you allready have first. This is an old New car auto detailer trick used to remove glue beads left by the plastic new cars are shiped with. it's definatly worth a try with all the poish and wax products that you all ready own depending the condition of your paint and how much time your are willing to put towards the project. The products that are good removing adheasives where just about as quick as solvents for removing glue beads.
Another tip. Never Use a Plasic razar Blade with a Medal razer Blade holder.

you will badly scratch and scrape off the paint if you use a real razor blade. you can subsitute just about anything that is plastic and has a flat straight edge for the plastic razor blade. for example a plastic knife would work if you scraped off the teeth on itOriginally Posted by Demon355

Goo Gone and let it set a minute, then go over w/a plastic blade. You can get Goo Gone anywhere, the other products work well also but are hard to find sometimes.

Are there more than one Goo Gone product? Different types? I want to take my stripe off this weekend
