iroc wheels for 4th gen rear

This has probly been asked before, but did not see anything in the threads i searched. Is there someone who sells iroc wheels that will fit a 4th gen rear properly? All i see around the internet is the 0mm offset ones which won't do.
My wife really wants these wheels

Re: iroc wheels for 4th gen rear

i think if u use the factory rear rims they should be a 16mm offset if i remember correctly and they will stick out just to the lip but not past it. looks good IMO.

We just put a 4th gen rear in my boys '92 and it looks good. I think it looks better. He's running chrome 17' replica IROC wheels.

Re: iroc wheels for 4th gen rear

With all these goobers posting I will give you some real feedback.

I put on a 96 LT1 rear in my 91 RS. I was running the factory 16" wheels.

Everytime I hit a hard bump my tire would hit the fender well.

It complete ruins the factory appearence and gives it that wonderful ******* look we all love.

As for finding some not sure what to tell you but I can about garrentee it would be cheaper to find yourself another third gen rear that has everything you like.

Re: iroc wheels for 4th gen rear

Irocz front wheels are 0 mm offset. rears are a positive 16 mm offset i do believe

this means the front wheel on the rear will stick out 16mm or .6 inches. so 0 mm offset is NOT what you want. you need about 40-50mm offset like a 4th gen wheel to fit like stock thirdgen wheels.

I'm not aware of wheels like that out there on the market.

I can get a pic of this to double check that the rear wheels are indeed 16mm positive offset and that the front wheels will stick out even farther.

but here is my 4th gen rear swap and pics of the tires. it does stick out to even with fender lip. looks kinda good but the fronts are tucked in like stock so it sucks. the fronts need to come out some to match it but oh well.

if your suspension is new and fairly stiff, you wont hit the fender. my car has lowering springs on it and dropped the rear about an inch but it still sits somewhat higher than i wanted it. i hit bumps all the time and no problem so far with tires hiting the fender lip.

Re: iroc wheels for 4th gen rear

I've seriously been considering going back to the 3rd gen rear. My only reason to upgrade was the fact it had a posi and everything for next to nothing, and i figured i needed something a little better for the ls1 im dropping in the next week or so.

Re: iroc wheels for 4th gen rear

Seems to me it would be cheaper to find a 3rd gen rear that has the gears and posi already in it than to find/buy rims that dont exist, or to have the rims sticking way out.

Just an idea.

Re: iroc wheels for 4th gen rear

Start looking for a 3rd gen posi/disk rear in the gear of your choice. And move the LS1 brakes on it. The backing plates will bolt right up to it. All you have to do is remove the axles then transplant the LS1 setup. It's real easy.

I have +56mm ZR1s 17 x 9.5 and I use 2in spacer/adapters and they fit great. With the 4th gen rear you can drop the spacer/adapters and bolt them right up.
