recommend an air compressor
im going to purchase an air compressor for the garage so post some replies on what you recommend and what compressors to stay away from. i will be using it for basic auto stuff on weekends. i was looking at a craftsman 33 gal tank. i searched the web for reviews but didn't find much. thanks

Same here. I also have the vertical (takes up less space) Craftsman 33gal unit. Works great. I wouldn't go with any lesser volume. The SCFM rate this unit has just enough to cover most tools (air rachets, impacts, drill, etc).
If you want to do any spray applications, then you might need a little larger, but this unit suits me perfectly.

I have the 33 gallon upright unit like everyone else. I have absolutly no complaints about this compressor. Works awesome for what I need. I run all my air tools off it and do a lil bit of paint work with it. Mine came with the tool set when I bought it. Only complaint it the hose they sold it with is way to short.

33 gal. upright Craftsman for me, too.
Mine came with the free air tools as well.
Anything will work as long as it has decent HP and SCFM.

I got an 80 gal Speedair 25.1 SCFM at 175psi upright compressor, seems to work alright

another craftsman 33 gallon, works awesome, I do alot of paint work and it keeps up with the gun very easily.
