What's her car gonna be? It's gonna have to rock some serious power for a paintjob like that. Serious. Power. Twin turbo V8. At least.

 

It won't be as fast as mine but it will definitely be quick. Not sure what engine we are gonna go with though.

Go with Purple & Yellow, your choice of which one is the base color. That's whay my wife chose. Purple base, full-length yellow rally stripes.

 

I likey the sound of that (for a lady's car). Are the stripes more of a gold or real-deal yellow? Got pix?

 

I resent the "ladie's car" comment! She "copied" her 90 from my 92. I had purple with white stripes. She chose yellow instead of white. Be kindacool if you kept the pattern in that game, but these colors.

Purple & white is more masculine than the purple & yellow (trying to make you feel better lol). Your wife's autocross car is hot. It really sucks that Firebird rims look so good on a Camaro but Camaro rims look so crappy on a Firebird.

Does your RS only have one tailpipe, or can I just not see the other in that pic?

 

My 92 had NO muffler & the exhaustran straight back, on the passenger side. You can KINDA make it out here....

That's cool because it's a super-exotic with a bona fide one of a kind paintjob. And that's just sick.

But I liked the original idea, lambo green base with the black, uhm... tribal spider? Or you can go with any of the supercar colors. Viper Red, Lambo Orange (Even though your ride is already orange), Ferrari Yellow, etc. etc.

Black base with the stripes a supercar color would grab attention to.

 

she's suggested some funky colors lol. i like the green and black combo. i like the orange and black combo on mine(even thoe the paint job sucked) i know she's loves the lambo orange. thats what i wanted for my car..... $ it's expensive they quoted me 1299.00$ for one gallon lol i went with omaha orange which was the closes i seen. she does like purple but it's kinda a dark color and she wants it to be brite. i'm crossing my fingers she dont decide to go neon lol lol

i will be painting the car this time. i would have painted mine but we had just moved into a new house and i had no where to paint it. i'm building a paint booth this weekend actually so i can paint hers this winter.

it's a 91 little rust under driver side floor board, rh rr quarter has some dents and rust but other then that body is straight and solid. has the HO 305 (rebuild this winter) black interior and 5speed trans. she wants the auto so the trans is going to go in mine. this one is going to be fun. we are going to do ALL the work ourselves no horror story paint shop this time. i built a paint booth this weekend and this car is going to be crazy. she has changed her mind on colors and design she's thinking black with pink designs and accents but not like the picture. please feel free to throw her ideas... she reads third gen with me so the more the merrier

we just got it home today so after we get it all unpacked and situated i'll post some more pics. also the guy gave me sooo many parts for the car. i had an entire truck bed full of parts. rear axle,interior parts, wiper motors, two exhaust systems. one of them flowmasters with the chrome tips, two torqe arms etc. anyway more later.

Why do people put stripes on the roof? GM never did this on ANY car and it looks like a 5 year old with a box of crayons did the work. Sorry but it annoys the hell out of me.

Just because GM didn't do something, it doesn't mean we can't do something ourselves with OUR ideas. Sticking to OEM rules & ideas is BORING.

There's a sweet red I saw the other day. I've seen it or something similar on Lexus cars and Acura cars. Not sure what it is, but my research leads to Matador Red Mica, Noble Spinel Mica, Redondo Red Pearl, or Habanero Red Pearl. Haven't seen any of the cars again. If I do, I'll note down Year/Make/Model so maybe I can get a concrete name for the color.

 

It has nothing to do with what "GM DID" it just looks weird, but I guess to each their own. I apologize for being an a** about it. I'm just dont listen to me LOL!!!

if i were going to paint my car with a tribal id go with a less aggressive tribal and possibly ghost it instead of two different colors IMHO i think that car would look good with brick red in gloss for base then a brick red in matte for the tribal

 

You asked us what we think so I think it's gaudy and tasteless. You put stuff that busy and cluttered on a boring car that has dull lines. Think about those Scion rolling shoeboxes. F-bodies have great lines to them, cluttering it up with gaudy tribal nonsense just detracts from it and makes it look garish.

def to each his own. "Different is good" approach doesnt work in my book but to some it does. To me a design or striping needs to flow on a car and not look like it was just slapped on there out of place.

But to each his own. I see cars done with these crazy designs and stuff all day long (my tire store is located in the ghetto part of town) with every autozone part imaginable. I laugh at everyone.

Oh and btw, i think that lambo posted above has a wallpaper/decal paintjob. I dont think thats really painted on. Someone please post pics of that actually being painted!!!

 

hers will flow a little better then mine does. but with mine i did'nt get the design i asked for. i got "i thought i'd surprise you" from my painter and he changed a lot. i do plan on redoing a lot of mine this winter. i'm painting hers and we are going to take our time with it...... it'll flow

 

Im a big fan of painting and doing the work yourself bc you get what you did out of it. Im trying to get my own gun and stuff so that i can do some practice painting on my little nissan sentra this summer. That way when my GTA is ready for paint yet again, Ill be able to take the time to do everything myself and turn out a really incred paint job.

 

you'll have fun thats for sure. i love working on these cars. and ya the reward is a great feeling(imo)

i'm looking for a new one for her. when i bought the car and looked it over it had little rust. when i pulled the carpet .... the floor came up with it. it would need new floor boards so i'm parting it out and getting a better one.
