Need opinions on reflective coating for tail light housings

I took my tail lights apart mainly to clean them, and to take off the crap tint job I did on them. Im in the process of polishing the lenses, but Im wanting to put something inside the housings that would make the light reflect more. From the looks of it, it's almost like GM either had some kind of cheap chrome job, or it's just something like chrome-like paint. It rubs right off no problem (found out that hard way). I tried some Rustoleum Chrome paint, and it's not as reflective as the original. I was thinking about aluminum foil, but it would be a PITA to get it in there without any wrinkles. I know Im being a tight ***, but since I already got the lenses seperated from the housings, I'd like to go ahead and try something new if no one else has. Any ideas?

You can buy brand new ones from Eckler's Camaro. Kinda pricey though.

Id rather not, Im kinda cheap when it comes to buying stuff. I know they still sell the GM lenses at the dealer, and they run about $150/side, but I didnt check pon the housings.

Aluminum adhesive tape bro, works like a charm and since one side is adhesive, it won't come off or wrinkle.

like the duct type tape? I think I have some of that laying around, I didnt even think about that. Ill try that out tonight, see if it's as reflective as the stockers. Thanks for the tip man!

Its not duct tape, its actually a very fine thickness of aluminum. Looks like metal. but is tape...

I did something to my old 71 buick a couple years back that seemed to work out okay. I used Testor's silver paint. Just brushed it on. It was like a metallic silver paint, and it made my tail lights quite a bit brighter, although i dont think its as bright as youre looking for. But paint is another option, maybe you can find a better one.

I thought he was thinking the same thing, but since duct tape looks nothing like aluminum tape I was sure he knew the difference.

Look into Testors paint or see if they use some kind of chrome spray paint for model cars. Check out a hobby store or something like that. Thats where I'd start looking.

Im going to try a few different options, but after looking more into it, Im in the process of making some LED tails, so the housing really wouldnt matter. It's more work, but after seeing some shots of them, Im diggin the design!
