12x1.5 is the stock length IIRC? Do you use the mag shank lug nuts?
Supreme Member
For the Weld wheels yeah, needed to use the shank style. Stock wheels use the regular ones, just open ended in my case because of the long studs.

Well guys i have been doing ALOT of thinking, about redoing my 92.
Or just looking for another shell and starting over. The problem is that the car has alot of sentimental value, and i don't ever plan on selling it!
So I'm not worried about resell and recouping my money. But i will have to dig up the pics of it, and let you see just how bad it is. Maybe you can help with my decision on what to do..

soo.... What ya think ?

What happened to it? Maybe you can buy a donor car and swap the drivetrain and body parts to it.

I had it at my buds shop/ yard it was indoors, while i was working out of state.
During this time he was going thru a divorce.
And while he wasn't there, it was stripped the ls2 drive train i had was also taken the motor you see there is a 400sb mover motor. I use to move the car to his place. I had BMR track PAC suspension on the back with a 12 bolt with disc brakes, that was stolen! As you can see basically they cut everything out the car! Its still solid underneath, and only have surface rust in a few spots. Truth be told i get 4 stories every time i ask about it.
I feel it was an inside job and some knows WAY more then they lead on about, but with no proof I'm kinda s,o,l! So i said the hell with it i have to start over! I have had this car since i was 17 I'm 28 now. I have had alot of fun with her, but it hurts to see it like this .. And i got to do something fast.

Honestly if i had my camaro that long i wold definetly keep it. But also if its within ur budget to fix up. You can just keep it and store it. Then down the line get it running, you can even jst buy stock used parts thats cheap and will directly bolt on. Or jst buy another one, but the difference is that from wat i read, that car is a peice of history from your life and down the line that car will be a peice of you. I wish i kept my '87...Would you regret selling it or getting rid of it? Case im going throgh it and it SUCKSOriginally Posted by ShadowfoxRS

Yeah this car mean a lot to me. So I just wanted to see if I was being crazy.
Truth be told, it's the car I had when I met my fiance. She loved that car and was more into building it then i was at the time. We named her Jezza, and often said she was my mistress, (Hence the name lol). She made me promise. No matter what happens! We would fix her, I would never get rid of her, like I had done with almost all the cars before it!
I laughed, but she was serious. So I agreed and behind her back i bought her a 89 GTA, white t-tops TPI 350 tan leather, that I was going to give to her on our Anny.
Then she passed away unexpectedly. in a accident. I couldn't look at the GTA with out crying and fallin apart! So I got rid of it but I could never bring myself to get rid of the camaro cause i made a promise.
But with all that has happened with it since I thought I was being naive.
Thanks for your help. . .

Actually it was my first car me, my father, uncle and grandfather painted it one summer with ghost racing stripes. Here's the pics.
It's an 89 Camaro RS V6 Auto.
Car before sanding. Me at age 16.

Prep Work and Sanding:

The End result:

Another angle can't see the stripes now can you? I loved those ghost stripes.

And lastly a clear shot of the front before the headlights were put back on.

It runs low to mid 10's on the motor, and low 9's on the nitrous.
Member
your sig says that the engine started out as a 305! is that right? i didn't know that you could make that kind of horsepower using a 305 block
Member
what kind of horsepower are you making anyway? ever had it dyno'ed?
Member
Quote:
No that's not right, my sig doesn't say anything about it starting out as a 305. You must be talking about the info underneath my Avatar. The 305 is in my '91 RS,.....the 468 Big Block is in my '72 Pro/Street Z28. There's a comma after the 305 TBI, and then it says: Blown 468ci w/NOS. If you look above that it says: Car (which shows '91 RS, (comma) 72 Pro/Street Z28. Below the Engine: it shows the Transmission, then Axle/Gears etc..etc Originally Posted by johnfwz28

Quote:
I don't have any dyno numbers on that motor. I'm guessing it was probably around 700 HP,......somewhere in the 950 HP range on the nitrous. (325 HP Wet System) I should have some exact numbers this June when the new motor is done. I actually just pulled it out a couple weeks ago to rebuild it and make some well needed upgrades. (ie. new solid roller cam & lifters, (.758 lift, .321 duration) new crank, ported & polished heads, etc..etc...) It should easily make 800 on the motor when I'm done. I won't be running the nitrous on it anymore since I've now retired the car from full-time drag racing. It's now going to be an 90/10 street car. (90% Street, 10% Track) I'm sure I'll probably take it out and run it once every other month. There's no way I can just quit cold turkey.Originally Posted by johnfwz28

oh,ok now i see. guess i need to pay closer attention to what i'm reading. hey maybe you can answer a question i asked over in the "engine performance help" thread. would you check it out and respond please?
