Post pics of stripped interiors!
I've been thinking about stripping the interior of my GTA. The interior is pretty much crap. I only paid $1250 for it though.
I wanted to strip it out, put down black carpeting and headliner, put in 2 black racing seats, and spray paint the grey interior plastics black. (Flat black is the theme) I wanted to build a custom console just big enough for the shifter and locate the window buttons to a panel, attached to the dash.
I am aiming for a race car, more brutal looking approach to the car. I want to remove the rear seats and make room for a small roll cage.
So post some pics of stripped interiors, preferably 'birds.

Re: Post pics of stripped interiors!
looks good, I want to strip the interior, remove any deadening material, and redo it black, and flat black. (Theme) Black carpet btw... lol
How hard is it to remove the interior? Anything I should no, concerning wires or anything?

Re: Post pics of stripped interiors!
Well I have not remove 100% of my interior but for the picture up above if that as much as you want out then it's pretty easy your just be removing the center console, then the seats and then the carpet give or take the door guard things. I say the only thing I had a problem with was accidently unbolting the shifter and not just the center console. Now if you’re going for the back you'll have to remove the side plastic panels.

I can't remove the back seats, how do I go about doing this?
Also the back seats hook up to those black metal pegs attached to the sides. I can fold the seats down but what tool do I use to remove the black pegs? I can't remove the platic panels without this piece out.

Re: Post pics of stripped interiors!
You didn't say if you have a solid rear seat back or a split style. They both have a hinge that is mounted to the seat back with a threaded stud pointing down. It has a 13 mm nut attaching to it from below. You have to remove the bottom seat cushions first to ge to the nut. The solid rear bench has just the two hinge bolts to be removed. The split bench style is removed by removing the nut, then twisting the seat back while folding it forward. This gives you clearance to pull it off the post that is welded to the center hump. I hope this helps, Lon.

This is the best I can do, this how the sport coupe looks right now, it was completely gutted except the plastics.

Looks good, what ripping the carpet up straight forward?
Update: got the rear seat cushions out, now working on the seat backs.

Re: Post pics of stripped interiors!
The carpet was the best part, once the seats, center console, kicke/rocker panels were off I was able to just literally rip it out. Oh yeah, my Sport Coupe paid me 20+ dollars in loose change

Re: Post pics of stripped interiors!
My center console is just trashed so I'm just going to junk it, sorta sad I bought a GTA with all those "luxury" options and I'm just gonna rip them out. lol

Re: Post pics of stripped interiors!
Just find another center console thats the same, or just get a nice one and you can cut out the spots for the power windows, trunk release.

Re: Post pics of stripped interiors!
I think I'm going to get an aftermarket one, I saw this and I liked it.

This will take the place of my whole console right? I want to free up some room up front.
