Ronal USA is Dead

Did you guys hear about this? Looks like if you were hoping for a future run of R-15s, the chances are at zero. What's out there is it.

21 February 2008

It’s with a heavy heart that after 29 years, Ronal Wheels, Inc., USA is announcing the closure of the Ronal Aftermarket Wheel Sales location in Huntington Beach, CA.

Ronal will concentrate on its profitable, and growing O.E. (Original Equipment or Stock) wheels segment, which was over 13 million wheels in 2007, and is expected to be over 16 million wheels in 2008.

"The remaining Ronal wheel inventory will be sold to Ronal Distributors at a heavily discounted price. Please see the Ronal dealer list to contact a distributor for a great price for a set of Ronal wheels.

We appreciate your support over the years, and wish each and every one of our customers the best of luck.

-Ronal USA"

Yes, it looks like they closed last year at some point. But, I had not heard of it before tonight, have not seen anything about it on here, have you?

Re: Ronal USA is Dead

Wow... this makes sense now. I have a set of Ronal LT on my 2001 C5 and called Gary at Ronal about a year ago and asked if he could make a set for my new Z06. He told me that they would if there was enough interest and he would get back to me. Never heard from him, so I ended buying a set of HRE 591R. I guess this makes the wheels on my '01 rare. Too bad, I rarely drive that car only putting 2,000 miles on it in the last 3 years. A couple of weeks ago I GAVE that car to my live-in girlfriend. Do'h...

Re: Ronal USA is Dead

I remember the first time I ever say ronals, I was about 6 (1992ish) and my cuz dated a guy with a Gray GTA with gold accented Ronals. I always wanted a set for my Formy but always found something else to spend the cash on. I'm sure prices for a clean set of r-15's are gonna go through the roof accordingly.

Re: Ronal USA is Dead

Well, prices for used sets were already pretty high! Think I'll hold on to mine, now.

BTW, credit goes to TGO member GreatDaneGTP for doing the research on this.
