So tuesday i got a call asking me to come to dinner at my friends house with the whole muscle car group and off road team.Well, with it being a meet i figured id take the camaro out and drive it for the first time in a while.

It had been sitting so i gave it a much needed detail. Heck i even washed my beauty rings in my sink(note to self:mom doenst approve).haha. so it came around to about the time to go,i filled up my airshocks and headeed to the gas station.upon arrival i got a few compliments,nothing out of the ordinary, then headed for the party.

Now keep in mind this party/meet had its fair share of red necks who came in thier trucks and whatnot.were all friends.

Anyways long story short-er..we had our fun and went on our way.i headed the opposite direction from the rest towards my house.well i turned on to a pretty busy two lane road and was headed for home.half way down that road it drops from a 50 one to a 40 zone.me, being on probation from a previous ticket and knowing cops sit there, slowed down to exactly 40.

however another car came at me doing about 80, someone leaned out the window and threw a 2 lb bag of flour at my car.it hit directly infront of my face and shattered my windshield,glass needles were all over the inside of my car,and flour was all over the outside.so much for the detail.i couldnt see so i locked up my brakes and swerved off the road so i wouldnt hit anyone.

i then drove to the nearest gas station with my head hanging out the window ace ventura style.once there i called the police and my parents.i also called my friends from the party who set up a road block of lifted trucks in hopes to catch them theirselves the red necks spread out with shotguns and machetes.i went inside to get coffee to calm me down and to kill some time before anyone got there.when i came out my parents were there along with two other people who were behind me who also got hit.

there was at least 5 others hit as well.the cops got there and started the search k9 units,sherrifs,undercovers,state troopers in of road police vehicles, and all.my damage was by far the worst,noone else got hit in the windshield,but there were small dents and bent wipers.

they still havent caught the kids who did it but i was told they have a lead from the bags of flour.

got a new one less than 15 hours from the time it happened,the douchebags cant hold me down..i parked it outside so they could see it!haha


**they also cracked my high rise spoiler too,idk how but they managed it.

 

That ****ing sucks! It really pisses me off when a**holes pull that crap! I hope they get caught! Glad to see you got a new windshield!

Yeah.. those guys better hope you don't find out who they are. If I were them I'd want to be caught by the cops and locked up for protection.

 

That sucks man. Just outa curosity is it just the pictures or is the hood and the area around the windshield a different color than the rest of the car? It looks almost pink..

It could have been much worse i suppose, you could have lost control and wrecked.

 

no its all one solid color its the red they used on the 2005 corvette.its looks different depending on reflections and light.sometimes it looks orange and sometimes it looks almost pinkish but its definately red.when i painted it i was looking for the brightest red without going orange,and thats what i came up with.

Those ppl are lucky you couldnt see to catch up to them...i had a bunch of punks throw a big cup of coffee on my winter beater when going down the road...i chased them down for a good five miles or so...got on side of them and swerved at them...the punks yelled something about being a "crazy ****er" as they spun out into a small ditch...haha...thank god it was only coffee not a big bag of flour(brick)...IT DID FREEZE TO MY HOOD/FENDER/DOOR THO!....im really sry to hear about your car tho man...looks sweet all fixed up tho...hopefully those punks get caught and get a big cockmeat sandwich in jail...haha....btw sexy motor...i want one

Dude, That sucks! Thankfully you're alright, didn't crash. Could have been worse too, good to see it was just the window to take most of the damage, and not the body.

Update if they ever catch the kids.

 

Sorry to hear that happened, and like others have said, be thankful it didn't cause you to wreck the car.

i am sorry to hear that man. I am glad you are okay though it could have turned out a lot worse if you know what I mean. It is to bad people don't have respect anymore. I just want to say you have the nicest third gen I have ever see. That is how I always wanted mine to look only I don't have the cash for mine to be like that. Anyway at least you will have a great story for your kids and grandkids.

I can't believe what people do. They are just jealous of other people having nice things. I bought my car last July from my neighbor and the paint would have been perfect but years ago he had it parked somewhere and somebody keyed the car. The paint still looks really good but you can see where he put touch up paint over it.

 

Im now afraid to even get my car done, when i first read this, b4 i saw the pictures, i thought that it could have possibly bent a A-Pillar, sucks tho man insurance paid for the windshield right????

 

thanks for the generous compliment.i purchased the car 3 years ago when i was 15 for $300 with the hood.since then ive dumped another 1300 into the body(only because i had to rebuild it after someone totalled it head on) and i have 2000 tied up in the new motor...just look for deals theres plenty to be had out there.thats what i do.

and thanks to everyone else for the compliments and sympathy,i truely do appreciate it.

 

no unfortunately i only had liability insurance on it so it all fell back on me.as far as the spoiler goes,i bought and painted a spare a little while back incase anything ever happened to it.(that was another deal,traded a broken 3 peice z28 spoiler for it)

 

If you catch the guys who did it, you can get them.their parents to pay you back for the windshield. Just go get a 2nd, BIG, receipt to show them the cost of it!

out here in new york a while bak they cought some kids throwing a supemarket turkey over a highway from a overpass/ small bridge and smashed through a windshield and injured some lady in her car

 

thats what i did,i know the glass guys so they cut me a deal and didnt charge me for the moulding or the glue.but i had them write up a second reciept saying it was hella expensive.

 

I'm pissed off for you, how ****in stupid can people be. Sure it sounds like fun when your a dumb *** kid but in reality you could seriously hurt or kill someone and cause a ton or property damage. I did a lot of stupid things as a kid but never anything that could result in someone dying.. I hope they catch the morons who thought that was a good idea, make them pay for all the damage they did along with a heafty fine and/or jail time or a ton of community service.. There are enough things to worry about when driving such as stupid drivers that arn't paying attention to the road and people who drink and get behind the wheel, you shouldn't have to worry about some jackass throwing something through your windshield while your going down the road.. Sorry for the rant, I'm just imagining how pissed I'd be if I was in your position..

I don't often post to the site, and usually just draw on all the knowledge and inspiration on the site. But let me tell you, what happened to you absolutely sucks, not to mention could have killed you. I hope these jerk offs are found and punished to the fullest extent of the law, then put in a room with about 25 ThirdGen members!

recently, my camaro was hit while some jacka$$ was trying to parallel park.
i only have liability ins as well, but i got a check for $270 from uninsured motor vehicle insurance. i have a $200 deductible, which sucks, and they pro-rated me like $80 for pre-existing damage to my bumpers paint, but the total they would have given me is $550 or so had all the variables been in my court.
you should get a lot more if you get anything at all

at least call your insurance and see what they can do.
file a police report and cover your ends, that way, the ins adjuster will be on your side (if he/she is a nice guy/gal)
mine sure was.
