Re: 91-92 Camaro without gfx

You could get away with it if you also installed a Sport Coupe front end with no airdam whatsoever. The 91-92 front airdam is way too low and protruding for a car with no gfx and will look seriously out of place. Sort of like a bulldozer or a snow plough.

I don't have any photos of 91-92's with no gfx, but here's some of an 82-84 Z28 front end on a non-gfx car:

Keep in mind though that the 82-84 skirts were far, far slimmer and more subtle, including the air dam. Those early cars can get away with the 'chins' on and no gfx, but anything 85 onwards... no. Just look at that photo and imagine the air dam being twice as big. It would really look like a snow plough...

Hopefully my gfx will be installed right after the car is repainted in two weeks - if only you lived somewhere close I'd gladly buy your rocker panels with the gfx mounts on. I have to fabricate mine

You might get more results by asking '85+ camaros w/out gfx; The '85-92 are virtually similar.

keep in mind, if removed you are going to have fastening holes.

Cant you just fix them, or paint them...instead of removing em? Or even get new ones...

How bad are the old ones? They make some urethane repair liquid that's 2 part mix and when it dries it is similar to the flexibility of the gfx. Or you could glass them. Or if you don't paint I could step by step you on it.

Re: 91-92 Camaro without gfx

I like a look like this. (Realize I am not 100% sure I will do this, i am going to see what it looks like first before having the holes filled and such)

91-92 front lip
No side skirts smoothed holes of course
No rear bumper skirts also smoothed holes

Something like this but on my camaro, I am not adding a front lip to the already 91-92 lip I want, I am going to replace my 89 lip with the 91-92 longer lip then remove the side skirts and rear bumper skirts

Re: 91-92 Camaro without gfx

I'm thinking about just removing the rear and the piece behind the rearwheel (rocker I think) cause that's what's messed up and I'd leave the front and sides on.

Re: 91-92 Camaro without gfx

I'm painting mine soon so I'm borrowing a plastic welder. If you can you should try to fix them up. It'll look better with spots on it than no gfx at all.

Just remember that that you would have to get a bumper cover from base camaro without ground effects (like this pic)since the ground effects are part of your bumper cover.
