4th gen. look
I'm having thoughts about this mod. I'd like for it to set the look off with a 4th gen wing to have that "newer" look, but then i'd kinda want it stock and clean. Hope this aint too tacky or anything. Give me yalls opinions on what yall think about this one?

I think you'll get shot, if you cut up a set of 91/92, 2-piece tail lights to mod like that!

I've always liked the 91-92 cars. I might be the only one but I actually like the smaller aero wing on those cars. I'd leave the tails stock, if u want a newer look get a ram air 1 or 2 as those hoods fit the 91-92 cars look better than on an 82-90 Bird.

Re: 4th gen. look
Personally, I wouldn't hack up those lights to do it. But, if you haven't see this already here is what I did to blend the 4th gen look to the rear of my car. Plus the addition of the sequential turn signals really adds a coolness factor.

Re: 4th gen. look
I see what you mean. does in fact look good and different. I have another set of 91-92 tail lights thats why i can care less if i cut into these to try the mod. I always have the back ups in case if I get the "what the hell did i do" response in the end of the mod. how did you get your lights to look like that FYRCHKN?

I'd rather have the $, than custom lights.

i agree, i would rather have the cash than the modded lights.
I'm not a purist by any means but i think that the stock 91-92 lights look best on your car.

Re: 4th gen. look
i'll just go to the junk yard and pick up a cheap pair of tail lights and try my mod with FYRCHKN's mod. Wanna see how good it comes out and how it looks in person.

I say go for it, the lights actually look kickass. Would be somethin to set ur car apart from other birds. To tell you the truth I kinda like them better than the stock ones.

Re: 4th gen. look
Perhaps if the lights were almost square like 3rd gen camaro lights, they would be a little more.. congruent.
Re: 4th gen. look
Don't use the walmart fogs that I used when I attempted to build a custom taillight a while back. They are an ugly light blue.
The thing that makes this so difficult to do is the fact the taillights are curved or not flat. Not only cutting the curve for the sleeve or pvc pipe for the fog to go into, but even making sure you have both sides the exact same and both fogs angled the same. One may look like its slightly pointed down and the other might have the sleeve in there crooked a little bit. That little bit of error can make a huge difference.
I've tried something like this and have decided I'm just going to make my own custom one piece taillight setup from scratch or do what FYRCHKN did.

Re: 4th gen. look
I used to be a purist until I tossed out my completely stock and unmolested drivetrain for an LSX swap...I think you should do this. The photochop you made looks incredible. If you can somehow pull it off to make it look THAT GOOD, then by all means do it. But if you're going to do it, do it right, and don't make it look in a way which would let others get the impression you did it yourself, you want it to look professional, like something they can go purchase on the aftermarket.
If you do this, your next mod should be a 4th gen wing.

Re: 4th gen. look
I like the taillights the way you tied the 3rd & 4th gen look.
The 91/92 taillights are a rarity.
Try the same mod on a 85-90 set?
As far as the Wing from a 4th gen - too much for the 3rd gen body to carry over - in my opinion.
It is your car and you should do what you think is best.
If we did what everyone else agreed on - we would all have the same car!
