Re: 87 Formula Rims on a TA??
It'll probably look awfully similar to any of the Trans Ams that came with the salad shooter style wheels:

I've got pics somewhere of my GTA when I bought it. It had 88+ Formula wheels on it when I bought it. It looked terrible, and with the 87 style wheels, I'm guessing it would look even worse.

Here's a couple of mine when I got it with the salad shooters. It's a Formula that got a T/A body kit when it got repainted. Just for reference, I'll throw in one of the Torq-Thrusts and M-sport rims on it now.

Re: 87 Formula Rims on a TA??

Personally, I liked the aluminum 16x8" better than after they were blacked out. I put the Torq Thrusts on because the 16" tires were shot and I didn't feel like getting another set of new tires when I already had 15". I put the BMW rims on because they were cheap, and the handling was no bueno with those heavy Torq Thrusts.
Hope that helps,

That helps a lot. Thank you. I didn't realize those rims came stock on TA's between 85-87. Ive already bought a set for a pretty good price. I just have to clean them up and strip the clearcoat and they will look great.

I like these formula rims better. They are 16x8 as well, I think the ones you had pictures of are the older ones that are 15's...dont quote me on that.

Those only look good on Formula's and any firebird without ground fx. I know because i had those on my old 88 TA clone.
