smoked side marker lights??

High guys, so I will make this as brief as possible, I want a set of blacked out side marker lights for my 84 camaro. The ones on the car are the stock orange/yellow ones so I am not sure if night shades woud work and give me the desired color. What would be my best bet?? I guess I could buy a pair off ebay(already smoked color) or should I get a pair of the clear ones and then use VHT night shades to get the desired color?

Re: smoked side marker lights??

I used my stock lenses and smoked them but I painted them with a paint gun using 50% clear mixed with 50% black, did 3 coats like that and then 3 coats of clear on top for a deep shine, really dark and still visable at night.

Best picture at the moment, maybe able to zoom in?

right on, looks good man. Thinking I may just grab some Vht nightshades and spray mine. I don't have a spray gun so this is my next best option. Were your side markers clear or orange before you sprayed them??

Stock orange ones. Make sure you put some sort of clear coat on after the vht, every time ive seen it used, it looks dull.

Re: smoked side marker lights??

I tinted a set of clear markers with VHT followed by a couple of coats of clear, did the same with the stock park lights. My tails are done too, but not near as dark, color is still distinguishable on them.
