Keep the orange or go black wrinkle on M/T valve covers?
Just dropped my 383 in last week. Previous engine owner painted the M/T covers orange, I've got some high temp black wrinkle though. Do you think the orange should stay or go?

orange is cool because it's a traditional color for sbc's. your preference. i wish i would have painted mine red. but it's black, and unnoticable.

i'd keep it orange as the engine doesnt have any black on it. that water pump kind of stick's out like a sore thumb, but it also looks like the carburetor has blue metering blocks on it too huh?

I'm going towards the black as it is classy and traditional. If the cylinder heads were orange too I would have stayed with the orange.

With our body color painted engine bays, I like blacks and silvers, but I see yours is painted black, like the "good ole" days. That being said, I do like the traditional chevy orange. ....but then I'm never happy, and change the color combo on mine around every few years!!!

Thanks for the comments. The car is black with grey ground effects, so the engine bay was originally black, but I did repaint the engine bay with eastwood's underhood black (I was very pleased with the results). I'll just leave the covers orange, it stands out better. Time to put the new alternator on...
