Need some help finding LED bulbs to replace all my exterior OEM bulbs on my '89 Formula. I just don't know which company to go with. What's good and what's bad. A brand and website would be very helpful so I can just jump online and order them. Product #s? I'd rather spend a little more for a good product, warrenty, etc.

Need Bulbs for:
Front/Rear blinkers
Front Rear Marker lights
Tail light
Rear Brake light
Third eye-level Brake Light
Back up lights
Licence plate lights

Also where will I need resistors so the blinkers blink and not at light speed!

I'm going to do my HID headlights as well soon so any brands or websites for them would be helpful. Thank you

 

I asked about this and was told that the LED lights offered to replace the rear lights wouldnt be bright enough. IDK if thats true since i ended up not buying any BUT i do know a guy who makes LED tail light sets and i can let him know and/or point you in his direction. I did buy some side marker LEDs on ebay though which seem fine.

 

Wouldn't LEDs be brighter?

I was told they wouldnt light up the housing enough, but like i said i dont know for sure since i didnt end up buying them anyway. For the side markers i just used the LEDs and it works fine. Considering how many LEDs tail light kits have i could see how those basic LED "bulbs" may not work well.

 

How do the LED taillight kits look? I need new taillights any way.

Found them, they're between $300-$400 bucks and brand new. I might have to bite the bullet on this one and order them.

 

Yeah, depending on what options you want and what style tail light housings you have theyll be around $250-$300. What kind of housings do you have? I can get you any info you need and refer you to the owner of the company im talking with if youd like to order.

 

Im putting switchback blinkers in the front of my cars. They switch from white to amber when blinkets are turned on.

 

COOL! Where'd you get them and how much?

 

E-bay, they run around $50 a pair, depending on wich ones you get.

itsMikey - are you happy with those LEDs? Are they bright enough during the day? Do you have pics/video?

 

store bought are not bright enough during the day and do not light up the housing well or even close to a dull factory bulb.

 

^^^thats a good site, they have a big selection, and there cheap...I ordered a bunch of bulbs for my kids maxima. I like the LED tag light, I might get on for my car...

 

I got "Jam Strait" Hyper-Bright LEDs for my front and rear smoked marker lights at O'Reilly Autoparts. They work great. Love them.

None of the plug/play type LEDs are going to be bright enough for turn/brake etc. They just won't light up the housing enough in the daytime.

You'll need to do a real retro, and install a PCB of LEDs into the housing. Search by my username for a huge thread on the ones I built. Others did the same and they all turned out great.

For HIDS, I got mine from theretrofitsource and have been very happy with them.

 

My plug-and-play LEDs light up pretty good during the day and my marker lights are smoked. But true nothing beats an entire row of LEDs in there. I think I'm going to shave my marker lights when I paint the car anyway so these work fine, until I decide what I'm going to do. I need to check out that site.

 

i couldnt find none for 2057 bulb.does the 1157 work just fine???what type you get??????
