It's starting to come together.

hey guys. i have been working on my 1992 RS 25th Aniv. Ed.
for about 2 years. its a dark grey/green metallic paint (om color. only 2,600 were produced in this color i think.)

it was going to the junk yard till i saved it. it had no interior when i got it and smelled nasty. i replaced a lot of parts on this car. i was just wondering what you guys thought of it?

Re: It's starting to come together.

thanks for the kind words!
I have been working hard on it .
i took it to a local car show and had some complements but didn't win anything..
they put me in a 1990 and up class.

i thought it was crappy on the fact that i had to go up against brand new cars.

the top 5 places were:
1. 2012 mustang (stock)
2. 2012 vw gti (stock)
3. 2006 mustang (customized)
4. 1999 chevy silverado (customized)
5. and the 1 that chaps my azz a 2001 oldsmobile alero ( COMPLETLY STOCK 4 CYL 4 DOOR!

oh well watcha gonna do. i guess all that matters is that i had fun with my kids looking at all the cars at the show.

sorry for the rant guys...just had to vent a little bit..lol

Re: It's starting to come together.

I agree that crap chaps my ***, if I want to go to look at a 2012 Mustang I can go see a 100 at the local dealer. That **** does not belong in a car show, Your car looks good I like that color a lot, good job on saving her from the bone yard

Re: It's starting to come together.

thanks for the kind words guys. sorry i waited so long to reply.

i guess i sould elaborate a little more about my car:

1992 RS 25th Anniv.
T-top
305 & 700r4 (236,xxx miles and counting)
all the plastic is out of a 1992 heritage RS
rims are off my old 1987 Z/28
steering wheel off a 1991 lumina
new carpet
new brake lines, rotors, pads
new locks and chrome handles (just to be a little different)
seats out of a pontiac fiero
and still a long way to go. but getting there slowly.
here are some more pics.
the camaro when it came back from having the pans patched and getting ready for carpet
my old (sold it) 1987 z/28 it had 80,000 mi and a 454ci
i kept for sale signs in them to keep the city happy if they are not plated the city has a cow. so with for sale signs ( and no info on them so no one would call) it keeps everyone happy.
and just a better shot of the inside.

Re: It's starting to come together.

Hey guys.
Just thought I would share with you that I just got my new headliner, sail panels, and sun visors form Hawks on Friday. I thought they matched pretty good, and they were easy to install.

Then on Sat. I took it to a carshow about 60miles away, and had a blast there.
There was about 75ish cars at the show, and belive it or not "The Green Machine" placed in the Top 50 and got a trophy.

Sorry for the horn tooting but it feels good to get a pat on the back from time to time.

I am going to be looking to pick up that combo for my car too. the sun really beats up the interiors on the t-top cars. mine has 94k on it but the leather is shot, the headliner is shot, the visors are ok but should be replaced. It's actually a little bit of a shame because it makes my car look like crap even though it just rolled out of paint in febuary

Nothing wrong with tooting your horn when you do all your own work.

Nice job, keep it up.

Re: It's starting to come together.

nice, now replace the front louver grill with an iroc grill, and change the lower front lip from 85-90 to the original 91-92 aero style
