Painting Stock wheels with High Temp Engine Paint

I know this sounds a little odd and really ghetto but has anyone ever painted their stock wheels with high temp engine paint? Maybe spray a few coats of silver and a coat of clear on top? I'm thinking about spraying my stock 15" RS rims like this. Do you think that this would turn out well? See any problems that might happen from doing this? Thanks a lot.

Why do you think that you need high temp paint? I've painted many wheels with regular spray paint, and everything turned out fine. I like the fact that I can change my wheels appearence with in a day.

I figured it would be more durable that way. Wouldn't it?

yea, unless you drive your car on Mercury you probably don't need 500-1500 degree paint. From recent experience, i'd suggest practicing painting stuff first with the paint you're going to use and be patient. especially if you want them to look good.

It is only as durable as your top coat. Use some regular paint and some urethane or protectant clear.

Take it town to bare metal and use primer, that way it will be less likely to chip. It will turn out much better.

Or use some Tremclad, toughest paint around!

here's an idea... paint them "IROC" style. as in have the inserts dark grey, but the rest silver. here's a pic on my old wheels on my car... if you really want to see detail go in a paint program and zoom
