Any opinions? Who thinks I should leave the stripe and who thinks I should remove it?

I'm not a big fan of the cloudy day pics, but they're all I got from the previos owner. The Formula in the background is his, not mine.

Sweet car man, I really like it. If it were my car I would leave the stripe but that is only because I like the factory paint job. I like the stripes and really like IROC-Z on the side. Just remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, do what you like. You could always photoshop the picture and compare. Anyways, sweet car, I like it.

The IROC-Z sticker on the side is staying no matter what. I didn't used to like the stripe, but it's growing on me..

EDIT: spelling, and, yes, I have plans for it eventually. Rims will be polished probably and I would like to lower it. Tints maybe, new speakers, white gauges, cam, pulleys, 91/92 ground effects. First, I need the cash

Keep the decal, shine the stripe. Black Iroc's look sooooo nice without them, especially blue. The silver ones are a little better.

Like I said in the other post, the stripe is gay looking and definitely makes it look 80's.

I took mine off and its soo much nicer. I dont have current pics though

I had a Ravin Muffler on my Formula, and it sounded soooo sweet. Deep, and barely any exhaust chatter upon revving down. No popping either.

Anyway, MetalliCamaroRS, sweet ride man, good luck and have fun with it! Take care.

I used to hate the stripes on my car but they have grown on me. I was going to remove them, now I'm going to leave them, at least until I get it repainted. When I get it repainted I will look at it without the stripes and IROC stickers and depending on what I think I'll leave them off or put them back on.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

IROCThe5.7L:
I sold my RS last Saturday and got this the same day. I sold mine to a guy from Mokena, it was for his son. His son seemed pretty happy. I've always wanted an IROC, but in September 2000 when I turned 16, I found the RS and settled for that cause it was black, clean, and at least had a V8. I kept lookin since then for a black IROC with t-tops, and this was the first one I found near me that I could afford. As for dual cats, nope and the 2.77s, I don't think so, but how can I fnd out? Its loaded, power seat, power locks, power windows, a/c, lots of stuff.

Mac: The guy I bought the car from posted it on here for sale in the Midwest Region or NW Indiana and South Chicago Burbs board, I can't remember which. I was interested and met him at 159th and Pulaski and loved it but had to sell mine first. He's from Hammond, IN. I know he also posted it on autotrader.com, so I don't know if you've seen it there.

Adams87Camaro:
The Raven exhaust isn't bad. I like the rumble at idle, but it "cracks" when I rev it. I also think the tips stick out too far from the back, so I might try to get that adjusted. No complaints, but I think some day I might change it to Borla or Hooker.

Anyway, thanks again guys. Hopefully I'll take some better pics this weekend and post em next week.

I'd take the stripe off.. Check out my car in the signature. It looks much better, I don't care if its an 80's car or not, the stripe just doesn't look right in my own opinion.

Keep the stripe... I think it makes it look more mint condition with the stripe since it was part of the original paint scheme... and what's wrong with the 80's anyway? IMO it was the best decade to date. The 90's were ****in' lame.

Very nice IROC! I'm envious! I typically don't like stripes on Camaros, but the blue on black actually looks really good. Don't change a thing!

As your elder(not by much) I demand you give me your car! Just know this, be good to that car man! F-bodies are an offical endangered-species. I only wish I had kept the Ragin'87. My RS is dog slow, but I needed a new car for college, it had to be a 3rd gen, it had to have a 5spd, and a V8, and it had to have less than 100k miles. The RS was the only one in Texas I could find.. she shall feel speed one day.

As for the stripe, it adds character in my eyes. if I had an IROC, and were to repaint it, I would have the stripe painted on w/ a metallic paint(seen this done, adds MUCH flavor.) Nice ride man.

I know how you feel! I sold my '85 Z28 about 6 months ago and have been kicking myself in the *** ever since! For half what I paid for the RS I could have gotten new paint and wheels for the Z and had money left over for mods! I'm such an idiot!!!

oh what's worse, total monetary investment in the 87, less than the price of my RS BEFORE TT&L. Live and Learn, that's all I can say about that. It's ok tho, parts of her live on in my friends 78 Vette. the cam and intake are happy.

Nice step up in class. Even better that you was able to get the BLACK IROC. If you are keeping it factory look keep the stripes. If not dump the stripes. Question, Is the 89 styling better than the 92? See ya around town.

The 89 ground effects don't have the "air scoops" in them. I like the 91-92 ones better, but still, I'm REALLY happy. I got my pics today, they'll be up tonight after work. All came out good.
