I've got a 92 Z28 that is black with red heritage stripes. The red paint on the wheels is faded and needs to be repainted. Has anyone done this? What brand and color paint did you use?

I just bought the paint to do mine, same color combo 92 heritage Z28. The color code for the Bright red is code 81. I had Napa mix it up in a spray cans for me, and I plan to use the Duplicolor clear wheel paint.

Gotta love those pink wheels LOL!

 

I've never done it to mine personally, is still In original silver. but the same color as the stripes, Bright Red like BAD said, a shop can do it easy as pie but also you can do it yourself, just leave the inserts exposed and carefully cover up the rest, it just takes time to Carefully detail and cover it up what you don't want painted. A friend did it on his '91 RS, the car is Dark Teal metallic, ( Like My Z28 ) so he just painted the inserts in Dark Teal metallic. But my next third gen Z28 will be one just like yours, Black Heritage 25th Anniversary with Red

I found spray cans online with color code 81, it will make the process pretty easy.
