Black car, what color rims?

I have a Black ride and I want to do something different. Right now it is getting painted Black with Blue pearl and I was thinking about adding some painted rims. The newest trend seems to be painted rims so I was wondering what you thought of Gun Metal grey rims on a black car? I had the centers of my old Z28 Rims on my 84 Camaro done like that and it looked sweet with the Medium Royal Metalic Blue. Give me your thoughts and suggestions.

Flowmaster 3" exhaust
700R4 with 2000 Stall and shift kit
Auburn Posi with 3.73 gears "YEEEEEHAAAAA"
Autometer shiftlight tach and B&M mega shifter
One sweet sounding system

I love a nice set of chrome or highly polished rims myself..however when it comes to gun metal grey I think a wheel painted that color looks great on any car. I say go for it.

Are the Z06 rims "gun metal grey"? I'd go for that color, in fact im going to paint my IROC rims like a Z06.

I'll always be a fan of chrome on black. To me there is not a better choice. Chrome looks good on almost any color, but on black it just looks to sharp to take anything else. Then again, I remember seeing a black transam with the black spoke wheels with a polished lip. Those look good to.

I was never much of a person for flashy. I like to be noticed but not because the car screams at you. I was thinking something in Gunmetal might give it a bit different look. Afterall, who wants to be the same as everyone else

Thanks for the comments guys

I went with the silver painted 4th gen 5 spoke wheels on mine. I think they set off the car pretty well. I wasn't sure if I was going to like them over chrome, but now I'm happy I didn't go the chrome route.

I like black wheels on black cars. A nice polished rim with black spokes. Timeless. Grandsport wheels are available very inexpensively through aftermarket companies and would look great.

85-87 iroc rims, with the spokes polished, and all the grooves painted black would look sweet

purpleworm, can understand that. What about the 16" GTA wheels with black spokes and a polished lip?

Or the gunmetal grey. You decide yet?

I Like the black with a polished lip idea. I saw a set on a red camaro around here and it looked tight. It is going to be an expensive spring I think

I am very partial to the grey for some reason. There is an old Z28 around heere and it is light grey with dark grey GFX and for some reason I love it. The car is nothing special and it isn't even in that great shape but those colors do it for me. Hmmmmmm.....I don't know what i will do. There are too many options. My Honda comes out of the paint booth today so now I have to save a couple of bucks again.

Are you talking about Corvette Grandsport wheels? Where exactly can I find those? Sounds interesting
