Need some exhaust tips...I think
Finished my exhaust a while back but never got around to doing exhaust tips. Not sure what I want on the car now.

Thats what it looks like now. Debating on just putting a turn down or leaving it open like that (well under the rear bumper, back about 10" so I have room for tips) or go with tips.
I had a 3.5" slant cut before that I loved.

Then I went to a pypes dual tip rounded square design last year and it looked ok but I dont think I want this again. Sorry for the bad pic, its the only one i have that I took from the video still shot

I'm thinking going back to a single 3.5" tip, i found a nice 4" but that may be too big. Hard to find much since this is 3" exhaust piping.
Any ideas? What you think? Car has a 4" cowl hood and will eventually get a 5" hawks spoiler

yeah man the ones in that 2nd pic would look better with the 5" spoiler as opposed to the turn downs
I just did the opposite of going from tips like those (2nd pic) to turn downs, I'm going for more of a stock look.

I've never thought our rear bumpers were conducive to looking nice with exhaust tips. Is there an option for tucking the mufflers farther up/smaller mufflers and turn downs?

To be completely honest, i think it looks mean as hell the way it is. I originalyl wanted to do my exhaust like that, but as you well know, they dont end up being perfectly symmetrical with the centerline of the car. So I think putting a "tip" on it will look slightly weird. One of those things you dont really notice, but once you do it drives you crazy. So I decided against it.
But the way yours is right now, it just looks REALLY awesome. The whole exhaust tips stickin 3-4 inches past the bumper of the car fad really is an 80s pony car and bro-truck type thing. It looks good on our cars sometimes, but it's one of those fads that the rest of the automotive world left behind. The big thing these days is molded bumpers with a fancy tip made to conform to the bumper.
See... this is low key, but there, and fairly similar to your setup:

But I love the idea of having two visible mufflers pointed out the back. It's what you see on a lot of more modern cars, AND the C4 vettes. Newer mustangs, Nissan Z's, etc. If you make tips I think it will make it more obvious how they're not really centered properly. If you leave it like that... it looks great.

Big ol' tips sticking out... leave that for bro-trucks.
You can do some really nice low key type tips and make it look MEAN, but I think it looks great as it is. But if you were to do anything I'd go two small black round, rolled tips that stay under the bumper, similar to what you had, but keep in the shadows, like what ronusmc said.
Another idea that MIGHT end up looking neat, but Im not sure, is you could run two of the rectangle tips centered right under the tag. But I dont know much room you have between the back of the mufflers and the bumper.

The tips i would run will not extend beyond bumper. I hate that look. They also will be touching bumper as i dont like the ones hanging down on these cars.
I run 4 mufflers on this car to quiet it down to an acceptable level. I cant tuck it up anymore or go smaller muffler. It does sorta look like newer cars or c4 vettes with them hanging in the rear. I have some room to make tips line up with the taillights by running a small bend but then the tip length will have to be shortened. Idk i guess i will see what it looks like, i still have my old 3.5" tips i think

Tips might look ok, but sorry to the OP, I just don't dig the 2 cans out the back look on there.

I used a Stainless Work Mega oval ends on mine. They were a lot of money, but looked awesome...

My rubber on the hangers has sagged... the used to be a finger gap from the bumper. I will be cutting these off and using a custom built tip this winter.

IMHO I would say go with the slants again. both me and another thirdgen owner in our club have them and always get complimented on how they look with the car. When I did my first exhaust I was warned not to do the turndowns. If you ever go to a show, or even a meet up, you don't want to be that a hole who is shooting dirt on everyone else's car when you rev your engine or anything like that.
