It looks stock to me standing by it with the hood closed.
But seriously I appreciate the votes guys. I neglected the IROC the last two summers because I purchased an R6 and was busy with that. It's the little things like this that light a fire under my butt to complete the newest project on my car. Happy Holidays everyone!

These get harder every month!
Speaking of under the hood, where did you get all those chrome parts? I have never seen such a shiny under-hood.
Re: January 2013 COTM *Voting*
I don't know what's so hard about the voting this month. As soon as I looked at the final list, I immediately just clicked "scottmoyer" in the poll. What's the problem the rest of you are experiencing?

Re: January 2013 COTM *Voting*
In short yes. This portion of COTM is the members cars that were nominated by other members be to in the running (voting) for the Jan COTM honor. Your car must be nominated by another member at the begining of the month, and must be seconded for the nomination by yet another member. You cannot just join up. Post pictures of your ride, become active on the site and hopefully if your car is up to it and enough people like it... you too will get to "join in"
Welcome to the site.

I find this post impossible to vote in! Multiple choices would have made it easier. There are too many wallpaper worthy cars here to choose from. Some of these cars belong in an "original" category and a "stock looking" category on top of it. All are cars to be proud of.

Wow... They're all so clean... Very nice cars guys! Congrats to IROCthe5.7!!!
Re: January 2013 COTM *Voting*
I still contend that IROCthe5.7 should be disqualified from this "stock appearing" competition. Just look at his pictures. The rear shot of his car on the dyno almost creates a drool syndrome. The fresh chrome in the engine compartment just pops. How many stock appearing Camaros look that good from the rear? How many stock engine compartments look that good? C'mon guys. Let's vote him out!!!!!!
BTW, Congrats on the win. The car looks great. Now comes the real question. Can you drive it on New Year's Day like I can? At least someone from Buffalo knows how to win. My Bills didn't come through this year again. Oh well. Time to get the car ready to drive!!!!!

Re: January 2013 COTM *Voting*
Thanks guys. It's nice knowing people still like the car. I got the car in 2001 bone stock with 64,000 miles. My goal was always to have a stock looking IROC (I think they look perfect stock) while upgrading everything. Engine/horsepower, suspension, transmission, rear end, stereo, brakes..etc I'm pretty happy what I did with it over the years. But it's certainly not done.
Scott, speaking of Buffalo and driving my car today. Here's one for you. The car gets stored all winter. One night I had to keep it outside in the winter so the guy remodeling the bathroom could get in the attic. So what happens the one night I keep it outside in over 10 years?

LOL.
I'm pretty bored. Hope no one minds if I add more pics.
When I got her stock:

Polished up the TPI:

Finished the polishing and on the car:

Polished more things up. New alternator, coated headers, and new tanks:

After a few years, the L98 got some new parts:

And a Moser 12 bolt with 3.73's:

All finished:

But, like I said, I'm not even close to done with her. The newest project

Great car! Great win! You may have inspired me to pull the trigger on some new coolant / washer bottles. It seems like the yellow look is out!

Re: January 2013 COTM *Voting*
Thanks bud. I appreciate it.
Thanks. It does look stock from an appearance stand point. I wouldn't be eligible if it was an all original contest obviously. I believe that was one months cotm theme in 2012. But I've never cut a hard line, and have every piece of stock equipment I removed off my car. If I wanted to, I could return it to stock. But as of right now I have no desire to do so.
I wish I had it all buttoned up and the exhaust on when I snapped that pic.
Yea, it really makes a difference once you have them installed.

IROCThe5.7L I've admired your car for a long time.
Your car has been tastefully modified. I love the way these cars look stock and I'm glad that you kept your car stock looking on the outside and inside - with a serious increase in performance underneath. Thats the goal I have for my own car.
What are the specs for your new engine? What suspension mods have you made to your car?

Thanks. I appreciate it. The new engine is a forged 427. Suspension mods are:
Spohn Sub Frame Connectors
Spohn Adjustable Panhard Bar
Spohn Crossmember Mounted Adjustable Torque Arm
Spohn Front & Rear Sway Bars
UMI Lower Control Arms
Pro Kit Lowering Springs
I also just ordered UMI's Tubular K-member & A-arm Package. Figured I'd do it since I'm pulling the engine anyway.

Re: January 2013 COTM *Voting*
Thats very cool! What intake are you going to be running on the 427? Ha ha now it makes sense why you got the 12 bolt rear for your car. Yeah it makes sense to go through that stuff one time the right way (while you have the chance) then come back later to correct mistakes. Ha ha I'm sure everybody on the board has had those experiences before.
I can't wait to see the videos of the new motor! There will be a big change in performance between when your car was stock, to the way you have it now, to the way it will be with the 427!

Re: January 2013 COTM *Voting*
Wow, first time I logged into this site in over a month and found my car was nominated!
Thank you all for just the consideration, I am truly humbled. I have been looking at this site for well over 13 yrs and joined in '05. Never dreamed my GTA would have been considered.
Thanks again. Wish I would have saw it sooner.
Car is a 89 GTA, 26K original miles, 350, nothing really special about it, just clean and straight.
Here are some pics I am sure some of you are tired of seeing.
Take care, Happy New Year, you all just made my year!
