New wheels and candy blue powdercoated brake calipers, pics on pg 2
I need some input and help finding my next set of wheels. My Z06's are being sold this weekend and my first choice thus far has been the 17x9.5" deep dish C5's:
http://www.oewheelsllc.com/Wheels_3/...5-Deep-Dish_13
I have seen some other cool chrome wheels posted on the site though. Does anyone have some input on a sexy chrome 17" wheel? My price range is between $600-750. I am trying to stay with a 17x9/9.5 right now because I will be re using my tires and when my drag radials bite the dust I will get street tires for the rear and throw some drag radials on a stock 16" wheel for track duty.
So lets see what you guys come up with! Links to merchants will be helpful.

I like the DD C5's you just see them so much. I almost got these before I found my wheels. I think they go with the lines on our car a lil better as well.

Re: Help picking out new wheels
I do like TT2's but they wouldnt flow well with my car's theme I think. New technology under the hood and throughout the car plus the HID retrofit I am working on and then a traditional wheel style...
Definitely chrome no matter what wheel I go with.

For a set of four. I am no baller. Im going for some good thrifty bling not some imported one-off, 5lbs per wheel set of rims. haha

Yeah true. I go back on fourth on how I feel about TT2's. I like the ones you had on the car though. What made you decide to get rid of them?

Just changing things up. I personally liked 5spokes better than my current wheels and really solidified that position after owning these wheels for a few months.

I'm itching for an upgrade on mine, My 14 inch stock wheels just aren't doing it. I think I'll get the Z06 wheels you've got but in black. I'll keep an eye out for more ideas for your wheels.

I like the ones you picked or these. Not a fan of the rivets either. I had TT2's on my monte for almost 10 years, even though I really like them, I'd personally go with something else for a 3rd gen. Wanting some different wheels for my iroc too, I still like the chrome iroc wheels but I like the newer look of the vette wheels.

The thing with C6 wheels is they have no lip at all. There's a new deep dish C6 Z06 that is really nice though...

Re: Help picking out new wheels
I think I'm pretty set on the deep dish C5's at this point. I'm possibly going to be getting the staggered 17/18 set if I can work out a deal with a local friend that's here on TGO on a set of rear Nitto drag radials.
I'm probably going to at least repaint the brake calipers if I don't end up getting them powdercoated. The guy I use for that says he could match the body color of the car if I wanted to, that would probably look good?

Here's a set of the staggered wheels on a TGO member's car (Q's 91z28). The 18's have quite a bigger lip to them which is what looks great about them.

The C5 DDs are nice, the Z06 C6s are too, I don't think OE is making any of the C6 DD's without rivets just yet though.
Agreed, either do different sizes or do staggered, not both, makes the fronts look tiny.

I always thought the ACS Type 1 would look good. But I'm not spending $2,500 on wheels just yet.

OZ Racing huh? Those are interesting looking...
Looks like I will be getting the staggered 17x9.5 / 18x10.5 set. My buddy and I made a deal on those Nitto's and I'll be picking those puppies up in the next week or two and then I'm ordering my wheels. Can't wait to mount them and get some pics up. The deep dish is going to pop on the blue paint I think.
Re: Help picking out new wheels
I think the 18 C5dds look way better than the 17s. The 17s look too fat IMO. I bought some 18 C5 DDs with the machined face. Tire prices suck when looking for 18s lol. A silver wheel looks nice on blue too. C6 DD is a nice choice too!!

I think the second picture i posted of his car doesn't really do it justice, you can see the 17 still has a good size dish in the first pic.

How about the c4 zr1 wheels. Should be around that price range for a used set in good condition. Have the option of going 17x11 too if you wanted with those wheels

Oh and I dropped off the front and rear LS1 brake calipers from the car at my powder coating guy today, should get them back in about two weeks because he's going to have to find a custom color for it. Should look pretty awesome.

Like I said, AC Schnitzer is a tuner, Theirt wheels appear to be made by Fuchs (Otto Fuchs), from the legendary Porsche wheels. The wheel above is an older style, maybe back then they had OZ do their wheels.

BlueZee, I think you'll like the way the 17/18s Deep Dish C5s look. I would have liked to go with 18s all around, however at the time that I purchased them OE didn't have them available. I'd like to eventually go with 18s up front, but I'm okay with the way it looks right now. Just an fyi, the fit is going to be tight, I'm running 295s in the back with a 4th gen rear end. Post pics as soon as you get them on.

Re: Picked out new wheels, coming soon
Honestly had I not gotten such a great deal on the Nitto's I would have gotten all 17's, because of the cost of 18" tires. I am really happy to be getting the larger rears though.
I am hoping not to have any fitment issues since I was able to run a 315 tire when I used a friends wheels a few years ago and didnt have any issues, but I guess I wont know for sure until I get them and mount them. I am possibly going to get a slightly used set of QA1 12 way adjustable rear shocks from the same friend I got the tires from if I have issues rubbing on bumps in the road with my worn out KYB shocks.

Those oewheels wheels aren't any worse than those really pricy boutique custom wheels, most of them are made in China and just assembled here anyway regardless of the "made in the usa" boasting. Those things must have a ridiculous markup. See the COR fiasco.
The deep dish C5's look great and I think they'll be a huge improvement over the Z06 wheels, but I dont like chrome wheels so thats probably most of it.
