Pontiac Blue Calipers on your thirdgen?
Just got my C5 Brake swap stuff, and they came with Red "Z06" calipers.
But part of me wonders about Pontiac Blue?
I think my photoshop is a little too dark blue, I think Pontiac Blue is supposed to be a little lighter.
Thoughts?

White car, white wheels.
The blue was a photoshop, and I tried to tint it lighter but ran into some saturation and blocking artifacts so left it as is.
Its very white.
Very White.

Though it now has white ZR1s on it for the 17x9 and NT05 rubber.

I personally don't feel that blue goes with gold emblems, markers, etc. Red is a warmer tone that matches the feeling of gold. If the emblems were silver along with clear sidemarkers I think blue would go amazingly well. Just look at the 84, 94, and 99 anniversary edition trans ams.

Re: Pontiac Blue Calipers on your thirdgen?
Not sure if I like it. Tried to get close to GTA's crosslace gold here:

Sorry, Blue is happening, not this year due to priorities for Road America. But definitely later this year or over the winter. I've pretty much decided on it.

I think it would look real slick with the crosslace wheels.

Re: Pontiac Blue Calipers on your thirdgen?
Pontiac blue is closer to a sky blue, the color you photoshopped is too dark for sure. I'm contemplating the same color since I want something different from red and my car is a darker blue.

Re: Pontiac Blue Calipers on your thirdgen?
But, honestly, I like it that color. It reminds me of the ZR1 blue. Probably what I'll go with in the end.
But....
$$$ for Road America must be first! Road America > all other expenses. All other expenses impeding my car being at Road America ready for a Hot Session will be ignored.

Re: Pontiac Blue Calipers on your thirdgen?
I'm already different with my White ZR1s. Only GTA I've ever seen with them, probably only one I ever will.
Good thing they are powder coated, brake dust shows up like zits on a Teenagers face. So easy to clean.

Re: Pontiac Blue Calipers on your thirdgen?
They got smelly and hot with just doing Touring last year at Road America. Thats a 60 minute session, but limited to 70mph so I barely punished them and they got that dusty.
Basically with the C5 swap, I do NOT have any excuse not spank the car at Road America. I have all of the parts I need to run it hard at RA.
Which is coming up May 4th and 5th.

All thats really needed right now is to make sure to flush the system and put some good hi-temp brake fluid in there thats rated for track duty.
SS braided lines for the brakes now too.

Re: Pontiac Blue Calipers on your thirdgen?
ss braided lines would be nice, if its all metal then you can run silicone brake fluid.

I wish I could quote John Hammond and say "Top of the Line, Spared no Expense."
But there was a budget involved.
