Mine is kind of sleeper except for the 4" exhaust The way it sits there in that picture with POS street tires and all it ran a 12.88 @ 107MPH. That was accomplished by driving to the track and blasting off about 5 passes without even touching the fuel pressure, tire pressure, or anything then I just turned around and drove home It's my daily driver too that I use to get to work and back.

Heres the link of the 305 Stroker kit. http://www.enginekits.com/383stroker.html Everyone builds up a 350 or something. Why not be alittle different and build up a 305. I'm a college student tight buget. Not looking to win races. Just go to car shows and bull****

Thats cool man, I was gonna do that to my 82 Z28, so I would go for it if I were you. More power to you if you do it

Here is a car I am going to buy very soon. And I think once I quiet down the exhaust and put some different wheels on it, then it will be a great sleeper. Although, as soon as I can I'm going to fix the body dings and stuff, and put all the 85-90 Trans Am stuff on it to make it look like even more of a sleeper

The guy I am buying it from (Mark406) ran a 12.1@119 on 245/60 Grand Am GT Radials, and an 11.8@123 on a 50 shot. The trap speed alone on all motor is good for mid 11s I figure. Oh, and thats a 406 under the hood too.

I've got your sleeper right here.

It looks like any other dead stock slo-po 5.0 liter TPI 86 IROC on the outside, full of subwoofers on the inside,

<iframe src="http://community.webtv.net/IROCKZ4me/pics0" width=100%>
If you see this, your browser does not support IFRAME. <a href="http://community.webtv.net/IROCKZ4me/pics0" target="_blank">Click this to see the pics.</a>

Under the skin is a different story:

Engine pic 1

Engine pic 2

Sorry, I am NOT putting hubcaps on my IROC-Z!

They were not an option on these cars and If I put them on there it would attract more attention (stand out like a sore thumb) which is not the idea of a sleeper!

14"x6" wheels are out for the same reason! Not to mention the lack of traction. Besides with those little tires I wouldn't be able to smoke the comp on curvy roads too.

As it stands it is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Just another ol' IROC?

Your ideas of a sleeper must be a f0body from the junk yard half way falling aprt with a 600hp engine right???

Our cars look so good, it'd b hard to define sleeper.

I agree with unforgiven. Our cars look like racecars! Mine isn't that fast, but I always get hassled by mustangs at stoplights. Okay, I guess IROCThe5.7's and IROCKZ4me's cars look like showboats and still tear up the track, but the only way someone beside us would laugh us off as presumably slow cars at a traffic light would be if we were driving a rustbucket... that ended up smokin' them. F-bodies just look fast IMO, that's all.

I've been wanting to build a 3rdgen like that for a long time. I just haven't been able to find a body that was in bad enough condition.

Yeah, since when did hubcaps be a requirement for a sleeper anyways?!

When I think of a sleeper I think of a nice looking car that doesnt draw any attention to itself.. it just goes like a bullet when you hit the loud pedal.

Alot of you guys have GREAT sleepers IMO.

My goal is to make the 82 Trans Am look like a stock 85-90 Trans Am.. sorta quiet, but it still runs low 12s/high 11s. I think the only thing that will give it away is the idle and tires.

Mine used to be a sleeper. 14 inch stock steel wheels, no ground fx, no spoiler, faded red, th350, 3.73's, locker, 350 engine.
I got into a lot more races back then.

Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets. Kobel ground FX, currant red metallic paint. Lots of other stuff...

I thought by sleeper you just ment it looked like a stock thirdgen but was a hell of a lot faster. Mine looks like a stock 86 IROC which would usually be a 15 second car. But it runs 12s I figured that would be considered sleeper but I guess not. It's not like 86 IROC's are fast cars stock (15's isn't what I would consider fast).

i drove my iroc around looking like that for a few weeks time. No badging or anything, and it looked like a real turd.

It was only a stock TPI 350 at the time, but i still had fun with it for those few weeks, because it looked like it would barely start.
