City of Springs car show in Sulphur, OK on 11 September. Excellent car show with 224 total vehicles entered. I had entered my Iroc in the Camaro/Firebird category. This particular class consisted of 18 entries, including representations from all Camaro generations (no 4th gens though) and 2 second gen Trans Am’s. My Iroc placed 2nd in the class, which came as a complete surprise! Class winner was an excellent ‘71 Z28. I had the only Thirdgen Camaro at the show. Several C4 Corvettes and a 1981 Delorean were entered and were the only other 80’s cars represented. Got a kick out of seeing the Delorean and have included a pic. Enjoy!
I stopped by a car show to do a quick walk through on the way to my brother's shop today, and some little old lady had rolled in, in this AWESOME 24k mile 1982 Camaro Berlinetta. The car was pristine!!! It was a local show and I have never seen the car before. I have no idea where this car has been hiding!

Amazing Berlinetta! Such great original condition, where’s that lady been hiding that one? Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! They are the Hawk’s 17x9 88-90 Iroc replica wheels. Had some Nitto NT555G2 tires in 275/40 17 installed on them. Love the combination/look and have had compliments on them at the last couple of shows. Those unfamiliar with our cars probably have no idea they aren’t a factory setup/size.
Since there doesn't seem to be an "appropriate" place to put this, I'll ask here.
Has anyone here ever been to the Carlisle GM Nationals? I've been to the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals a few times, and it's a good event. It looks like 2022 might be a good year to go.
"The third-gen Camaro doesn’t seem to get the respect it deserves. However, the folks at Carlisle plan to give it what it’s been missing, as it will be a 2022 Featured Vehicle."
"The GM Nationals Wants Your Car On Display
Each year, the GM Nationals features various models and certain vehicles to be part of the Featured Displays. This year, if you happen to have a Chevy II/Nova (all model years), third-generation Camaro or Firebird (1982 through1992 model years, or one of Chevrolet’s small-size S-10 pickups (all model years), you could one of the featured displays.
If you are the owner of any of these vehicles and would like to attend the 2022 GM Nationals, please consider filling out the featured vehicle application. If you have at least three photos of your vehicle handy, the form only takes a few minutes to complete. From there, event organizers will review all the submissions and extend invitations to those car owners who get accepted."
I've been to the GM nationals at Carlisle. They changed the name from the GM nats, to the Chevy nats (but included olds, pontiac, buick) and now looks like they change it back to the GM nationals again. Its a good event. Bigger sized, but not like it used to be a decade or so ago. My car was in the "30th anniversarry of the IROC-) display in building Y back in 2015. That was a very cool honor. I do remember the submission process and all that was involved. They did require me to drop off the car on a Thursday and then it remained parked in the building until late int eh day Sunday, so keep that in mind if you are interested in submitting your car for the showpiece display....it will have to stay in the building for 3.5 days, so plan accordingly.
Some Long Island Iroc's representing this weekend!
Envy you guys back east. You certainly don’t find that in my part of the country. I haven’t seen that many thirdgens in the same place at the same time in years!
Attended the Paul’s Valley Police Officers 26th annual car show on 25 September in Paul’s Valley, OK. Good overall turnout with just over 100 vehicles entered. Did not bring home any awards, but had a great time nonetheless! The only 80’s era cars represented included my Iroc, a C4 Corvette convertible & a Foxbody Mustang.

it’s rare to see this many together. Usually I’m the only one at a show. I called out to some guys I’ve met over the years and everyone happened to be free that day. The cars received a lot of attention.

We decided to enter the Heritage Z28. If we get picked we are going on a 16 day road trip.
kennyglm, is that photo AT Carlisle? I asked (in a shocked tone of voice that you can't hear) because I didn't think there was any shade at Carlisle! We roasted when we were there.

When was the last time you saw 4 Formulas parked side by side at a car show...
From Left to Right
1989 Formula - LB9/MM5 T-tops
IIRC 1991 Formula
1989 Formula 350 Convertible
1992 Formula

I've never seen 4 at an entire show let alone together! Sweet!
First time participating in a car show (Mustang, OK); really well organized event. Only third gen Firebird present (no surprise there) and three IROC-Z's. Parked next to my friend's '81 resto mod Corvette (LS3/T56). Had a good time!
I attended the Thursday Night Cruisers car show in Mustang, OK on 23 October as well. Met fellow thirdgen owner & thirdgen.org member rt66er there (for the 1st time). Enjoyed some ‘thirdgen shop talk’ with rt66er, it was great being able to converse with a fellow enthusiast! These pics don’t do his Formula any justice. It is an excellent, well kept/maintained example. As he had mentioned in his post, there were a total of 4 thirdgens 3 Iroc’s (an ‘87, my ‘88 & an ‘89) and his ‘90 Forumla at the show. The most 3rd gens I’ve seen in one place at one time here in these parts! My Iroc placed 3rd in the 70-91 Camaro category.
Here are some pics of the thirdgens in attendance. Enjoy!

Are those the 17" Hawks Wheels? Did you paint them silver or did you buy them that way?
Thanks, guys. 1988 IROC 5.7, hope I didn't talk your ear off... I find a fellow third-gen and I just can't help myself! And congrats on the trophy.
Thank you! Enjoyed talking with you too. Know what you mean about finding another thirdgen owner, we seem to be a rare/misunderstood breed around here. Hopefully our paths will cross again!
Attended the Oklahoma Antique Airplane Association Fly-in & Car Show in Paul’s Valley, OK yesterday (6 Nov). We had excellent weather here for the show, odd for the beginning of November! No other thirdgens to report at this event, as I was the only one (and only 80’s era) car in attendance. Overall, there were around 120 vehicle entries and over 75 aircraft that attended the fly-in. Had a good time, might be my final one of the year!
Last month at Cruise To The Woods. They just added pictures of the show to their website www.wccruisers.com and they took a picture of me coming into the show....and a picture as I was leaving, too. There were around 1,300 cars there from what I heard. LOTS of fun! I had my buddy from Milwaukee with me and his son.
Attended the Seminole Made in Oklahoma car show this past Saturday (2 April) in Seminole, OK. Good overall turnout with over 100 vehicles entered. Did not bring home any awards, but had a great time nonetheless. I had the only 80’s era car at the show, which kind of surprised me (thought a C4 might show up at least). Weather was perfect, considering it had rained the day before! Glad I was able to get out. Had been missing attending some of these local shows!
