Camaros are not hondas
Camaros are not hondas
no offense to anybody, but if you want wings with 3 layers and body kits and stuff then go get yourself a honda. i think camaros are very beautiful just the way they are. besides, those wings dont really do anything but look crappy. even regular wings dont do anything 'till you hit bout 100mph. As for body kits, i think the ground effects on my '91 RS are just fine. this is just my opinion though, more power to anyone who thinks this stuff looks good on their camaros. By the way, that evolution kit is a descrace in my opinion. WHEW, i feel much better! thnx guys for letting me get that out!

By the way, it's too bad guys like you can't think outside the box on the body kits. The idea is NOT to take a cherried out Camaro or Trans Am and throw a kit on it. Get it? Use a beater. What an original idea. Give a 3rd gen new life as a kit car. Parts are plentiful and cheap for them.
ONCE YOU MAKE IT A KIT CAR IT IS NO LONGER A CAMARO OR TRANS AM - IT IS A KIT CAR ON A GM PLATFORM. GET IT??? What is so difficult about that concept?
You're absolutely right, I feel much better too. Thanks for letting me get that out.

To add my 2 cents....
I love the 3rd gens. To me a stock 3rd gen is a beautiful car.... I'd be lieing if I said I don't support changing them (uhm, the hood in my pic supports that).... I have nothing against adding or changing parts of the car to make it a little more original. But, beauty is in the eye of beholder.
What I find tasteful and what everyone else finds tasteful are two different things... Personally, I like all the factory and OEM reproductions of factory wings. I have yet to see an original aftermarket wing that goes well with the 3rd gens.
Also, as for the evolution kit.... I don't like that either. I think it looks a LOT like the current Mitsubishi Ecplise (even though, truth is the evolution kit was out before the current generation Eclipse). The Eclipse by itself is a good looking car, but to look at something similiar to an Eclipse and know a 3rd gen F-body is buried underneath is not MY style.
But, scauffiel said it best:
If someone took a beater and did this to breath new life into the car, the reasons make sense, new style, cheap parts. But I would hate to see something so re-designed passed off as a Camaro or Firebird. It's an F-body, yes, but it's a Kit car not a Firebird not a Camaro.
Whether I like the appearance of the kit car or not, one thing I can admire is the work it took (even if it was a pre-made put it together kit, like the evolution kit). All those kit cars took a hell of a lot of work/talent/skill to put together. That is skill and talent I wish I had.
That's sorta the best way to speak my opinion. I, personally don't care for F-Body kit cars (but I like the Fiero to Lamborghini kit cars, only because I have a better of chance of owning a "look like" then the real thing, plus, as scauffiel said, parts are cheap)...
Enjoy whatever floats your boat
And to each, their own....

Rob: You are right it is your opinion and personaly I don't give a damn what your opinion is. If you want to keep your RS stock then fine. If you are happy with your TBI
then fine. Myself I am not happy with stock. My TBI is setting in the garage NEVER to be used again. My car has a functional hood scoop. My car has SS emblems, yellow accent panels in the interior, Iroc rims, has been lowered, and I would love to get a funtional front airdam/splitter, rear tunnel, and spoiler to produce more down force for speeds in exess of 100MPH. So in closing let me say if you are happy being slow and stock then fine, but there are some of us out here that are looking for an edge, wether it is by adding more power, better handling, or more down force. These are OUR cars and as such we have built them to OUR tastes. So just get over it, if you don't like it don't look at them.

I agree 100% with everyone's opinion (except for the poster, lol). Like with my hood, I personally love it, but there are some people on the board that don't like it. But that is there opinion and it is perfectly fine. I will do what I want to my car, in whatever manner I feel like. I plan on adding an airbag suspension to my car in the near future, some people may not like it, but it's something I would love to do for shows, etc. But to each his own, I agree if you wanna keep yours stock, more power to you (or is that less power, lol), but toying with cars and modifying cars is something I love to do, and will never stop doing. It's my favorite hobby
Yup, thats what I'm saying, i think his hood looks like trash, i mean its crap. But thats his damn right, and I'll defend his right to do so. Like I say, do whatever you want to your car. I do whatever the hell i want to mine. If I wanna **** all over the door I WILL. If you want gold rims and tires that stick 8 inches out the side, fine, go for it.

RamAirZ,
You have a flare with the pen, errr, I mean keyboard. I think you captured the best way to put things in perspective in a very polite and appropriate manner....
Well, now that I feel like a brown noser, I think at this point, it seems everyone has a common voice on this post. To me, it sounds like a closed deal.
If ya like something, run with it. If ya don't stop the public belly-aching and do it somewhere private.
To eaach, their own....

Thanks Maniac, I still don't like the way un4givin goes about calling my hood and car trash all the time, there are different way in expressing your opinions toward it. I don't have anything against him, never met him, don't care, lol. But everytime I read a post replied from one I originally wrote, there is something about my hood, or grill, or car looking like trash, lol. Oh well, everyone enjoy there cars to your own tastes, don't let anyone keep you from doing what you like, let it be keeping the car original, or going all out and making it radical, you the one that has to drive it
While I'm not a big fan of the ram air hood on Camaros from pics, but I would love to see RamAirZ's car in person. I have a feeling it looks awesome when seen with ones own eyes. Too bad he lives on the wrong coast
I think everyone is quite aware of Un4givin's opinion

Saturday I saw an '82-'84 sport coupe with 4 (count 'em 4) fart tubes. Two on each side. And a big sticker on the rear glass, but I can't remember what it said.

Yeah, the pics don't do it justice. There are only 2 people on the board that have seen it in person. I personally love the hood. It looks mean going down the road. Here's some different pics of it.

ok, i pissed alot of people off with what i said before and im sorry.
ill try to be a little open minded in the future. im a hepecrit for saying it anyway because i just bought a new spoiler for my car. as for keeping it stock under the hood, there aint no way dude! 2.8 litre v6 w/140hp is nothing, and im not trying to get anybody to change their vehicle because "i said so". like i said before "more power to anyone who thinks this stuff looks good on their camaros". im glad to get anybodys opinion whether it be good or bad. anyway, im probly sounding like a total *** right now, but whatever because i learned something from it. i wont waste anymore board space with crap subjects like this anymore.
By the way Davieboy, i love that color! i have never seen a camaro with a silver paint job before, it looks great! As for RamAirZ, hood looks btchn! Bet its hella functional too! I especially like The_Maniacs datona style hood with the IROC louvers, my personal fav! Oh yea, im not trying to brown nose or anything, this is all true! just lettn people do their thing and expressing myself a little differently, more positive.

Stock is, uh, nice. My car on the other hand is my creation. I have added parts, body, engine, and interior, from 3rd and 4th gen F-Body's.
There are some aspects of all the models that I like.
I've added the 91-92 Camaro Rocker Panels and Lower Door Ground Effects to my car, as well as a 4th gen interior from a 96 & 97 Trans Am. 16x8 Chrome 5 stars from a 96 Trans Am and 17x9 WS6 5 stars from a 97 WS6 Trans Am.
The Spoiler I have is from a 97 Trans Am.
Exhaust is a Pacesetter 3" with 4th Gen WS6 tips off of a 95 Trans Am.
I can't wait to see how well a 98+ T/A front clip will fit to my front end.
I've attached a pic of the 91-92 parts installed on my car.
I'll have better pics when I roll the car out of the garage.

Rob, live and learn.
RamAirZ, you and un4givin89 seem to follow eachother a lot around these boards.... It's just kinda funny.... Makes me wonder if un4givin89 really is suffering from hood envy
Just kidding!
In any case, RamAirZ, unlike un4givin89, I back ya. I love the look of that Camaro (hood and grill). Plus I love the look of a black Camaro
I've seen the exterior shots of you Camaro, but do you have any interior shots?

Hey Rob, it's good to know that you have learned something, that is what this board is for. And thanks for the compliment, and yes it is functional, lol. Now Maniac, yes it is kinda funny, lol. Thanks, I have some better pics of that grill now. And yes I do have have some interior shots. It's mostly stock for right now (and proud to say it is in damn good condition too) except my system, B&M Megashifter, and my steering wheel. But my custom interior is in the works. Here are the pics of inside.
