Hey Y'all!
just thought id make this post on how I mounted Chastain Shadow Louvers on my 83' Firebird.
They came with no mounting pieces so I made my own.
1. gotta take the rear window off, to do that take the trim off the inside then there 4 bolts to take out which are 13 mm.
2. after you lift the window out, which will take a strong back and weak mind, take the hinges out.
3. since mine came with no mounts at all I took a piece of body metal and make two mounts by tracking out the size I wanted and drilled the holes for the hinge bolts and the louver holes.
4. after mounting all that up I had to secure the side louvers to the middle main section, which I just used PL adhesive. could use other stuff but that's what I had.
5. once the side pieces were dry I took 1/2" wide pieces of the body metal and drilled a 3/16" hole in to rivet them to the window and bend around the metal trim to hold the side pieces down.
if anyone has questions just let me know, I'm happy to help since there's not a lot of info on how to do this!
