2nd Gen Snowflake Wheels Fit?

Do the 2nd Gen snowflake or dish wheels (15x7 or 15x8) fit on the 3rd gens? Anybody got these on their car? Pix? Thanks.

will fit indeed, the 15x8 snowflake is hands down the best looking wheel ever put on a firebird

Just got back from the junkyard and scored a set of 78ish snowflakes for $80.00. They need to be sandblasted and refinished, but they are going to look cool. The old guys should like them at least. Pix soon.

Are you gonna start singing "Eastbound and down" ? Just kidding, those wheels do look good, but I hope your putting them on a black car.

80$ for a set of snowflakes?? wow did you get a deal!! finding a 77-81 firbird alone in the junkyard is next to impossible let alone a set of snowflakes,..there aluminum so you can strip them and polish to get them to look great.

Thanks guys. I am very excited about these. Started polishing (400 grit on DA sander) on them last night and they look great. One has alot of crud and is going to really take some time. My car is red, but after scoring these I'm considering changing to a Bandit scheme of black and gold on my 87.

First rim is done. Sandblasted, painted with engine enamel then sanded off the high spots.

All done. Took all day and air tools. Only hand sanding was final wet-sanding at 1500 grit prior to clearcoating. What do you think? I'll post more details and pix on my webpage after I got them mounted.

They are 15x7....I would love to find a set of the 15x8's from '79. The extra inch is on the outside of the rim. Thanks for the good comments. I probably won't mount these until after the car is painted to avoid messing them up. Hoping to paint in the next month.

I sprayed them with aircraft paint remover. I sanblasted them clean. I degreased them with Prepsol. I painted them with black engine enamel, paying particular attention to the insides. I then started sanding all the bright areas with various air-tools. I used an 80 grit die grinder mounted sanding wheel (dremel sand flap style wheel) on the tight spots and a dual action sander on the more open areas. I used 80 grit, 180 grit, 400 grit, then 400 grit on polish (Dual Action Sand) to get the finest marks I could. Then I hand wet-sanded them with 1500 grit to remove the 400da marks and clearcoated them.

Shaker can. No gun yet. I'm about ready to buy one though. Gonna shoot the car myself. On-base auto crafts shop has a paint booth.
