I agree both comments above. Quality materials alone will cost well over $1000.

Keep in mind, that unless you bring the car to them in ready to spray condition, costs go up FAST. If they have to do body work, disassemble the car, and yank the motor & other underhood components, you're going to pay $5k or more.

Just to sand, mask, shoot and wetsand/buff will usually run you a minimum of $2,500 at a reputable shop.

My brother had bumper damage on his car, and a little on the rear fender(he hit a telephone pole). He had a new bumper put on, the fender fixed, and the whole car painted for around 4000. Remember this is including having the ground effects taken off, sanded underneath them, painted them seperate and painting the whole car. Also he has a high rise hood that had to be painted with gloss black on it, and also black in the headlight compartments.

well for my car i spent $335 no more no less and that was just for everything from ppg. but i went with a basic color "concept black" so the cost wasnt much there. but me and a few people helped me and i got it all done in a month and a half. and when my friend was painting it the booth temp was like 105* so there r a few ruff spots that r going to be smoothed out when i get it back up too the shop and have my stripes put on too. but right now it looks sweet. i just need new rims and to finish my exuast.

Well.... just my sealer, paint and clearcoat for my GTA cost $750. Add to that the hardner, reducer, primer, sand paper, masking paper, labor, blah blah blah and it goes WAY over $800. My paint was more than average (It's 3-stage paint), but I also paid wholesale prices... there's a markup on paint. I would guess that he quoted you for a single-stage paint job.

For just shooting the outside of a car without doing inside the doors, etc, you can probably expect $1300+ for sand, mask, & shoot.

My neighbor is painting my Camaro for me as soon as I get it sanded down and primed. He said all I need to do is buy the paint and everything. Me and my dad are doing the prep work at my house and he will be taking it to his paint shop to paint it. What do I need to buy for a good paint job? I am getting it teal with ghost flames. What is the best paint for the job and what all do I need to get?
