Actually Prime, did it to his car looked really good. He didn't go overboard with it either. I was thinking of doing mine, I just don't think red would match my maroon interior.

Here's an idea. The guy that had the car before me owned a custom interior shop and thought it'd be pretty cool to do this. I don't have any complaints, for this is what made the car so attactive to me. But yeah, here's some interior pics of the front (back looks sweet too).

i have a red camaro and touched up a couple panels with the same body color paint. if you dont go overboard, it looks good. the completely black dash just seems to lack when the rest of your interior is red and black. its all preference. i happened to have a couple sets of dash pieces (was bringin my old beater 'maro to the junkyard) and tried it out on the spare set. that way if i didnt like it, i could switch back. these pieces arent expensive at all, so maybe pick up another set from the junkyard. make sure to clean the plactic and prime it before you paint. mine havent peeled or anything and look pretty decent
If you go to www.geocities.com/admrlam/Bird.html and navigate in a few pics, you can see i did the speaker grills, defroster vents, and recessing rings to the gauges.
MODERATION is the key, as was mentioned above with Primes. Ive seen someone do the whole dash bezel red, its nasty.

lol I just didn't like how plain and dark my interior looked so I thought why not. Here is a couple of pics for those who havent seen it. And yes I know my seats suck, hope to have them replaced soon though.

I really like how some slight use of paint to trim the interior panels works nicely.
Might try accenting the interior of the 84 in blue or silver...

Here's a pic of mine. The door handle covers are black. Changed em out, didn't like the silver on them, blah. Haven't taken a pic with em though. I am making my own billet aluminum dash kit here soon. My friend has a shop that sells that aluminum that they use on Harley's. The checkered flag looking stuff. His shop can lazer cut the pieces for the dash so I'm gonna have him do that. Think it would look sweet. Waiting for my 4th gen console to get here first.

mine is just spray paint and the reason it doesn't wear off is because we put clear coat on it and iam sure it will wear off in time like 3 years or so but heck it takes like 30 mins. to do all of them so its nothing big for me to take them off and just touch them up.
I'm planning on painting a few trim pieces silver to match my soon to be installed grant wheel and my CD player. What kind of paint are you guys using? I'm not gonna go nuts, just the bezels around the switches on both sides of the gauges and the little vents in the center console, maybe a few more things. Think it'd be a good idea to clearcoat them as well to keep it from rubbing off on things?
Ok what i did was I used VERY light coats of Rustoleum Hammered spray paint for like 5$ a can and put on about 2-3 coats of that on each piece. Then I used some interior Clear coat spray paint and put at least 5 coats of that on it so it would shine in the sun and wouldn't scratch easy....Spent like 15$ total at Lowes' and took my time with it and spent abut a week doing everything...

I saw the camaro at Houston and almost cried, everything else is sweet on that car except for the overabundance of red. I loved the aluminum pieces he had, just not all the red. other than that, Im planning on getting some aluminum pieces made for mine, such as dash bezel, switch plate, and maybe some inlays for the a/c area. Ive been wanting to do it for a whlie but I havent found any metal that I like, or maybe its just that Ive been too busy (lazy?!)
I might just do the paint for now until I can find some metal 'cause Im getting really tired of plain old black.

I've seen that Rustang, it belonged to the NEW Green Hornet, and that guy won it from a fast food chain contest!! Much like Drew Carey when he won the Batmobile on his show! LOL!
Black and Green Rustang, man what joke on a joke!

I have to say I would agree with that. Well I just like looking at it, some look cool some does not. What I would hate is to go throgh all that work then find out that I didnt like it as much as the original look. Heh one of my freinds tried to use some upholstry paint on his vinal, thats on a 73 Satellite. He thought it looked cool till I told him to try and scratch that paint with his thumbnail. It scraped right off. So he trys to take the paint off with some paint thinner but that just left the vinal with alot of warped bubble looking marks. No, I dont think I want to put myself through all that.
