See and Hear my car in action...VIDEO!
Not sure if it completely uploaded, and I cant get into my FTP program to check and I dont want to wait and download this thing on 56K so if it works here it is
a couple things. When I do a donut, my rear is posi..i know this for a fact, why is one tire so dark and the other almost not there
all the body roll you see is almost all gone, I had broken end links and horrible shocks/struts and I re-did both a couple days after I took this video
burn out and donut should have been alot better, for some reason I got my traction in this parking lot then I have anywhere anytime. I wish I got traction like that on a 1/4 mile road around here where I run my g-tech.

My guess for the posi, would be, when doing a donut more weight will be on one side, so there is more rubber in contact with the ground creating a darker mark. Just a guess. I haven't checked out the video yet, but I hate you people with your videos, my part to transfer VHS to computer won't be till Weds, I hate waiting.
Someone said, why did he compress it, Geesh it's a 10MB file as it is now, they are huge when uncompressed 56kers wouldn't have to wait a while for it.

What type of camera did you use to shoot that.
I went to my old Highschools parking lot to film some video on Sunday but for some reason now they lock the gates. I gotta find another place that won't get any attention.

Finally got it to work & wow
, that must be what my beater camaro looked like (bodyroll obviously) before I put the ws6 swaybars on it. yikes !
Cool vid & I agree,, you need a bigger lot to 'play' in
Factory posi (limited slip) still has the spider gears in it like a open rear but there are these sprinc/clutch things in it that apply force (or so it looks at least) to the spider gears thus limiting the slip between the axles (or so it looks anyways at a glance with the rear cover off), the tires will spin independantly though. Your tires must just get some kickarse grip.

Works for me.
Car is looking sweet.
That is a lot of body roll.
Best way to start a donut is to start with a brake stand and then let off the brake and cut the wheel, that way you don't move as much.
Check out this video of me and some buddies playing around.
We got LT1's, LS1's, Supra TT, Mustangs, Cops, etc....

Maybe I will make and upload a new one today in a larger lot somewhere, I have off and my body role should be lessened.

I stiffened up the suspension alot, I took that video 2 weeks ago, when I took it I had my sway bar end links broken, and bad/old shocks and struts, I put on new end links with polyurathane bushings and KYB gas-a-just's in the rear and kyb gr-2's in the front.
Im putting a video I took today at the same spot on my computer now...check back around 3 or 4 I should be done and uploaded by then.

I can watch 86FyrBrd's video, but not Zephers. The first one of Zephers where he just had it idleing like a Pro-Stocker I could see fine. But the one you posted in this thread comes up with some red, diagonal lines in the corner of the screen. I am done with work by 6pm. I need something to watch until 10:30pm. Come on guys, I need some videos!!!!

Every program I open it in (Even a mpeg program) says its invalid.
86, maybe you could encode it to a avi for us?

I am on my girlfriends computer testing them and they dont work, but they are uploaded the same way I did the other, so try these two and let me know how it works.
the interior one is huge, I wouldnt even try it unless you have cable or DSL its like 30 megs
I cant uncompress them and make them avi cause then they would be like 100+ megs each.

The HardKnock clip is encoded with Divx Audio and Video.
I get no sound on my computer, but my brother gets sound on both of his machines. Can't figure it out, I got Divx 5.0 last night and still no audio.

Also, your two new vids are encoded kinda small and cause a Catastrophic Failure when they are done playing.
Stutters a lot as well.

Try getting the Radium 3 codec, nimo codec pack as well. I believe these are video codecs, not sure if it will help anyone.

I can see both of them. They worked good for me. I don't know what we have on our computers, but this is my work computer, so I'm sure Info. Tech. doesn't let too many applications on here.

I am not sure I saw any smoke come off the outside tire in the doghnut. From the looks of things I would say it is because you have a mortal posi. The clutches are what lock up the axle. With some body roll in a tight doughnut like that a large portion of the weight will be on the outside tires. The posi clutches, especially in a stock style posi, probably aren't strong enough to lock up that one axle against the weight/traction. The spyder gears would not have been any help since the inside tire was spinning so fast. So any power the outside tire would have gotten would have come entirely from the clutches. A spool, locker, or possibly even a racing posi would have put both in smoke. It is possible more power to the rear end would have worked as well. Once the outside tire would have broken loose it would have been easier to maintain it. Just remember a posi is a compromise between staight line traction and turning.
Nice video. I might even save it to disc. Not that I have any idea what I would do with it.

actually as far as the smoke, when I looked after I made the latest video the marks where the same....the only thing I can figure about smoke not coming off of the one tire in the newest video is, it was really windy, it could have been blowing it under the car and out the other side...cause there is a TON of smoke coming off the drivers side tire.

Zepher: What did you use to encode your videos, these are encoded with Mpeg-layer2, should I do layer one or something else?
how do you encode to divx format
how do you encode to divx format
Wasn't the newest video done after repairing your suspension? If that was the case then my guess is probably right. After the repairs the weight would have stayed more even across the back tires. Then both would have gone up in smoke fairly even leaving two tire trails as opposed to the previous single trail.

I use Mpeg-1 for most of my videos. Encoded with either Ligos or Xing. 320x240 @ 29.97fps.
Ligos will encode to Mpeg 1 or 2 from inside Premiere, my Ligos is not a stand alone program.
Xing is a stand alone program. I export from Premiere an Indeo 5.4 Encoded Avi and use Xing to mpeg it.
I used another program, damn, can't remember the name of it, to convert the Indeo 5.4 encoded Avi to a Divx encoded Avi.
If you have Divx installed on your computer and use Adobe Premiere, you should be able to select Divx as the compressor in the Export Movie Settings area.
I'll remember the name shortly, it's on the tip of my tongue.

Anyone who needs codecs, try going to download.com and searching for Nimo codec pack, angel potion. This have several codecs with in them. Also search for Sasami2k Player, it's the best one I have used.
