Anyone know of a place or kit to make third gen hood into vette hood???
Guess i should rephrase it. Im talking about the way the hood opens. I always like the way the vettes hood open and i've seen it done but now that im close to finishing the body id like to do it. Anyone have any info or what tools and supplies are needed in order to do this? its for a 92' camaro, something along the lines of this in the pic.

hmmmmm
a clamshell you mean??
thats when the entire front end opens hood and fenders...........
i'm kinda liking that idea!!!!!!!!!!!
i suppose if you were to attach the fenders to the hood and hinge it in the front.............your going to have a problem with how to mount your side ground FX with the hood lifting and all....................i'm sure with enough work it can be done.........and i mite be the one to experiment with it

ok here goes my idea:
yellow areas are steel
blue area is fiberglass
now if anyone makes fiberglass fenders for camaro's i would need two of them
i would chop them in half (as seen in the photo) and attach them to a fiberglass hood..................that would make the one-piece clamshell assembly.......
then i would take the stock steel fenders, cut them in half and use the lower half as a "base plate" that is stationary
*** i love having a vette model right in front of me
hows the idea sound???

some of the late 80's early 90's buicks open like that with only the hood its self. I think youu could just use that hing set up and save your self the mess.
i don't have the link, but you should try looking up the cameleon 91z that was used on popular hotrodding tv. it had the same thing and i believe they just used the olds hinges. i thought about it myself, but it's just to much of a pain to work with.
good luck.
good luck.
