My new Headlight "mod" (pics)

Had to get my mind of the engine trouble for a little bit, so I did a little headlight and turn/park lamp upgrade today.

Got new turn/park lamps from gmpartsdirect.com, and the headlights are an H4 conversion with crystal clear lenses.
The H4 bulbs are "blue" which gives a nice bright white light.
I thought it came out pretty good...

Here are some more shots - I just don't wanna completely kill the dial-up'ers

What, no!! Not those lights!! I can't take them on or off!! Every time I see that on a car (especially an import) in my rear view or coming at me I feel like throwing something at them or saying something because they are so annoying!!

LOL,
They're not projector lights, if thats what yer thinkin' - the ones that a lot of the new imports has and so on that are REAL bluish and annoying.
These are just a brighter white than usual, but not those very sharp one. They are a little whiter than the Sylvania Cool Blues if you know how they are..

Bumpa,
I got them from a company called Initial K Auto Concepts in California. Shoot me an email and I'll try to find an email address or something if you want.
The lights are same std size as the original ones, but the hole in the back of the "holder" that the lights sit in and that the adjustment screws are moving in/out - has to be modified a little bit as it is a little too small for these lights. It is easy though. Once that is taken care of, it bolts right in place - and this kit came with the bluish bulbs and the conversion wires that you just plug your stock harness to.

Looks good. If you get some better bulbs, you'd be all set. Get a pair of those 55W GE H4s.

I think they look awesome. They do a good job of slightly modernizing the car's look. Are they much brighter than the regular bulbs at night?

Car: too many ...
sweet!!! they look great but I'll have to warn you to watch out what bulbs you run ... not sure if those came with a harness, but when I did the h4 conversion to my truck I made the mistake of running the super high wattage bulbs (80/100) and it ended up melting the harnesses to the bulb housing and also fried my windshield wiper ECU. so just make sure it dosn't get too hot ... the great thing about the h4's are the different hues you can run ... I remember when the h4 bulbs in my truck were green and how cool it looked comming up from behind with sorta green hazed headlights and a green slammed truck ... just looked cool and different. but anyway, nice mod there!!! beware the high wattage bulbs!! heheh lates

ChevyKen -- How hard was it to replace the turn/park lamps? Mine always form condensation inside them, and I've been meaning to replace them for a while, and they do look sharp! I thought about converting my headlights to H4 bulbs with a conversion kit like yours, but I am content with my CoolBlue ones from Sylvania, but if they go out, then perhaps I'll go the same route you did. As for it being like rice, I think those lights draw my attention to a car. (Sadly it's always rice and I have to ::sigh: Nice work! (I love the hood by the way!)

Its probably your crappy Camera and photo skills that make it look so bad, cuase the drivers side that isn't so close looks good.

Sure it looks good in person. I like the new parking lamps, how much were those?

I am working on getting some new parking lamps and converting them to Holagon to create my own Daytime Running lights.

Oboy,
Sorry for the delay in responses, but here goes:

Jza,
I'll have to keep these bulbs for a little while and see how I like them. I might go to regular whites if they start annoying me

Scott,
Yeah, the bulbs are 55/60w

Saleen,
I paid $104 for all of it on ebay - not sure what regular price is. I've been looking for them on ebay again from that company, but haven't seen them since that one auction.

Cobrakiller,
Thanks!

rocc4u,
Thanks - yeah I think so too, just have to decide on the bulb part!

MikeDwhoROCZImports,
It is quite a bit brighter than even the cool blue / super blue ones that I had before.

CrazyHawaiian,
Thanks for the warning man! However I don't see the need "bigger" bulbs as bright as these are...LOL

ChevyLuva3,
There should be some little bit more distant shots in the list. I'll shoot some new ones in daylight though - that'll give a better view of what it really looks like, rather than a dark garage
Oh, and the park/turns are new as well.

5.0L1992RS,
I only got the turn/park lamps from gmpartsdirect.com - not the headlights, but the part.no for the park/turn lamps are 5975682 and 5975681 - total price ~$65

MetalliCamaroRS,
Thanks!

WWasem,
It's pretty easy. Have a 10mm socket and a 10mm wrench handy and about 20 minutes of your time - and you'll be set
I had the cool blues until now - they are nice as well!!

TPl383,
Ahh! Great list - need to save that, cause I always forget what bulbs goes in each place!!

jobryan26,
Yeah - I'd love to finish it off with a set of new clean foglights. We'll see
Website? What website

TFM4th,
Those are TT2's - same size as mine I believe

un4given,
I'd bet money it looks crappy because all the **** that pours out of you face on a daily basis covers your eyes...
