Hard to tell...

.......from the pic in your sig. Do you have any full size pics of the car, inside and out?

With the stock rims on, make sure they are in excellent condition. I know many judges are partial towards good looking rims, and will even choose a set of stock rims over chrome aftermarket, provided the stock rims are pretty mint.

Cant tell in those pictures though.

BTW, where is the meet at? Is it normally a big event?

Hey, tell your friends to go blow it elseware, your care (from the sig) looks to be in good condition, the only thing i would do is hit it once or twice over with a buffer (one from sears, those things are awsome) and just keep it clean, maybe polish your rims, and the day of event, put baby oil on the dash and other areas (not stearing wheel tried that one and its no fun trying to drive when you cant hold the wheel ) seiroulsy though, just clean it up nice, and you should do fine, and even if you didnt get any prizes you still took away a lot of valuable memories, tips, and knowledge, and besides you never know you might see a few hot chicks that dig third gens

Laters and good luck

I'd say enter it, some better pics would help though, as long as you don't have any paint chipping or dents enter, what's the worst that can happen you lose.

It would be easier to tell with full size pics, but the most important thing at a car show is how clean the car is. Even the engine compartment. Degrease it and then get a toothbrush to those hard to reach areas. So clean and clean and clean some more. Don't forget the door jams and under the seats.

At most shows there are classes: Conservative thru full custom. I am assuming the show is just for Camaros, since you said it was a Camaro meet. In that case, I would think they would break the cars down into generation catagories. Then break it down further based on the mods you have. You should be placed with cars that are similar enough to yours that is comes down to how you have cleaned it and present it.

car shows are for fun, as long as you aren't expecting to win an want to have fun go for it........

as far as your friends, your car may not look as clean as a 2002; it's not suppose, but chances are it looks nice an they are just jealous. i don't know how many of my friends make fun of me for putting the effort i do into a 3rdgen; i walk away with best of shows and first places and they still look at me like i'm crazy.........what do friends know?

when i started going to shows with my car it wasn't much, but it was mine and good enough for me. it was a clean looking stock 3rdgen with around 80,000 miles on it and i absolutely loved it. i cleaned her up an drove her as is to the show; ended up taking 3rd out of 13 cars in my class. once i did that it got me excited an i started working harder so that i could do better..........but, it's still all for fun.

clean your car the best you can and take it to the show. you'll be glad you did. you'll learn alot more about other cars as well.

I don't want to be an *** but my car has 22,000 miles on it and was perfectly stock and I got raped when I entered it into a show. I was competing with a 25th ann with 1,030 miles on it with the plastic on the seats still..it was never dealer preped. also you should clean under your hood alot...they love that. Go to a quarter car wash but first go and get some degreaser type stuff. At the dealership I worked at it was Whamo! Anyway also go to a local store and get a spray can of Clear coat. Clean under the hood really well and spray this on it will make the under of your car shine like the outside. It also will make it easier to claen under ther from now on.
No this was long but you should do it.....it looks great when you show off your engine

Looks good to me. I usually just go for the fun of it. I usually walk away with someone to contact about a part I need anyways...

In the fall of 2000, I entered my car for the first time in a judged event. I took 6th out of who knows how many. It was a learning experience as it shows you what the judges are looking for. Like the others have said, it comes down to clean and without blemishes or imperfections. My wheels were pitted, my nose chipped in spots, worn tires, blackened exhaust, dirty underframe, engine bay in need of much detailing, the list went on but you learn.

So you work on an area for the next show...and on another area for the following show...time and money, that's what it takes. Hours spent sweating under a car getting the undercoating off, in the bay getting to those hard to reach spots, and polishing and cleaning every surface on the car. And the end result is moving up a place or two in the judging and with more insight for what to do the next time. You'll get out of the show what you put into it.

But the biggest plus I get at the shows, is meeting so many different people and establishing some long term and long distance relationships. The plaques are secondary anymore...I go for the fellowship and to look at some great looking cars.

Go for it, regardless of what your car looks like and get a taste of the show circuit. Here's some photos of the shows I did last year... http://y42.photos.yahoo.com/my1stcamaro92rs

nice link rob!!

i wouldn't worry about going aginst cars that have 1,000 miles especially when you have close to or over 100,000 miles. typically those cars are in special categories an most judges will be fare if they aren't. but obviously you can't expect to win if your car isn't even close to that shape.

when it comes down to it it doesn't matter how many miles you have if its over the first few thousand........when i first started i constantly lost to guys with 10-15,000 miles.......it's all about fixing the car up if you expect to beat them. like i said i have 100,000+ and more often then not i'll clean my car up more than one with less miles an win.

like i said earlier you really should enter for fun, there are times where you'll get beat when you should have one; it happens. but the whole idea is to emerse yourself in the hobby and enjoy it for the short time your there.

rob you going down to the superfest this year?

I have been posting about the Cops N Rodders car show for a while now. I stress that this is not only a camaro/f-body show...there will be all sorts of vehicles there. However, there will be a caravan to the show from the parking lot of Sears and "On the Border" that morning which will be all Fbodys. ANY year Fbody is welcome. I will have my silver C5 in the show. The show is the 21st of this month, a Sunday, and will run from 9am till 2pm. We are getting there earlier...and will meet up for the caravan substantially earlier. A good number of Fbody's and Corvettes take up space at the car show each year...my job is just to make sure more and more come each year So i really hope some of you can make it....as more information comes, I will post it. Anyone with any questions or needing information can contact me directly at: PhantomLo@aol.com. In the subject, just write "Car show info." I am looking forward to a good turnout.

I'll be there again this year. I wouldn't miss the chance of seeing some of the nicest camaros in this part of the country.

Some would think that but luckily for a show, each generation has its own classes. A typical breakdown:

Stock...no modifications
Modified...1-6 mods
Street...7+
Custom

It depends on the size of the show and who's sponsoring it.

The last car show I was at last year, there where vipers and newrt trucks there too, along with all the older muscle cars and antiques. so If it's your ride and your proud of it, go show it. I usually get several comments from people how much they liked this body style.

At the Southern Trans Am Regional Show in Pensacola, they did a neat thing. They had the miles of the car listed on the judges sheet. They were supposed to give points to those who drove their cars more. I thought it was a nice idea. At least it was something the judge would have in the back of their mind. Or at least maybe help in a tie breaking situation.
