Yup...its possible to paint the interior pieces. Go to year one and go to the interior section under panel/trim and the last thing under panel/trim is interior paint.
I just did the interior paint on my car, turned out good, except you have to be extra gentle around the peices, or the original color will show, wont be bad for you, yours is grey, I went from tan to black, and now I carry a can of interior paint in the rear, then again, I was in a hurry to do it, and probably skimped out on steps and materials, but what would one expect for under $100 for an entire color change? Saving money to get a new set, they go on ebay for like $150...
I have used interior paint for smaller items, like seat belt plastic covers. But even with 100% prep, and after care, they chipped slightly on fitting. I wouldn't recommend a full internal dash and trim respray.....it's gonna look like a crock after a few months wear.

Not if you do it right...plenty of guys over at the Knight Registries board have done a complete painting of the interior pieces. Since KITT had a tan interior and not everyone has a tan interior they'ave had to entire interior pieces tan, some with very good results. You have to put a few coats on and let each coat dry thoroughly...then if you want you can find a spray on clear coat, but make sure it is satin or matte and not gloss...unless you want gloss interior pieces

After watching Horespower TV this weekend I have been int he process of doing this in small steps for a while and still ahd some questions. What they did to a Chevell is wash everything with soap and water really good, then go over it with some laquer thinner and then several light coats. It Looked really good and they went from Pea Green to black. Also one of my freinds went from Black to Red in his 88 camaro. He said total time from start to finish was close to 12 hours prep and paint and install. his came out extreamly good. I will let you know how mine comes out in the next couple of weeks. I am going from grey to black. Also I am using a donor interior from my 88 TBI camaro to go into my 86 Z28 with carpeted interior. I hope everything fits cause the 86 is in long island and the 88 is at my house. Time will tell.

il have the link of my car later but there is not link for a "how to" on painting the interior
if you plan on painting it and painting it the right way and you dont have access to a shop jus take the parts off that you want painted and take them to a body shop and give them the code of the color you want like my code is B9008 "vett red"
but b4 that jus take some 320 grit sand paper and sand the rough off the pieces and then get some 600 and wet sand the pieces again untill its really smooth and then take them to the shop that should save some money
if you have any other questions feel free to ask me

gonna spend more money on new parts than to jus sand them yourself it shouldnt cost a whole lot to get what you wante painted if its all ready to paint ( taken apart, sanded, CLEAN.ect.)
