Your best bet might be to see which cars came with blue lights and get your "condoms" from there in junkyards.

other than that... I dunno

on a serious note what is he really talking about? I have never heard of it. If you are having bulb problems buy new ones. Not like a replacing something major. 6 bucks for the better bulbs and you are on your way.

On Firebirds, in the dash the light bulbs are covered by a rubber sheeth, it is colored orange to turn the dash orange when the lights are on. there is no real good name for them but other than "Condom" It fits their description very well since that is essentially what they look like.

My 90 RIV has the same thing on the door panel but the bulbs are verry small, like the ones in our stock radio and the shifter indicator.

Buicks have a bluish-green, and I think Oldsmobile has Blue. Figure out which cars use a shine-thru back light for the instrument cluster like our firebirds, but in blue and get your condoms from there.

You can pick up the buld condoms at your local import auto parts shop. They have them there for about .99 a piece. I redid my Camaro dash and shifter lights and they work well (don't put one on the light in your heater/ac controler, tends to get stuck. Just buy a colored bulb at the Import shop). Hope I could help.

Not Autozone, like one of the import performance shops, they usually end in "motorsports" or "performance". They will know what you are talking about.
