I know for a fact it will work on the 80's regals because I see Grand Nationals in my area with the GTA Crosslace wheels. This means that the bolt pattern and backspacing must work. The Black GN's look really cool with the GTA wheels too.

The crosslace you are refering to are the stock wheels for the GNX as well as GTA...

I believe the GNX used the same wheel as the GTA/TA black cross laced wheels BUT I believe they used all fronts for the proper spacing.

Why did GM make our offsets different front to back we will never know.

I have some GTA wheels on my GN--you definitely need 4 fronts.
The rear wheels will rub on the frame of the G-body w/o spacers--which are expensive and then you'll have to change the studs because they'll be too short--no biggie if you have air tools--but a bitch if you have to do it by hand!!

Those wheels came off a junker in the yard--I haven't been able to clean them up like I wanted to-no time. Plus I have my really nice wheels on my T/A. Hopefully soon enough I'll be able to strip those wheels and re-clear them.
here's a teaser.

5 Years, that poor GN.

I which I had one... Guess my Monte SS will have to do for now.

Smoked a Tricked out 5.0 last night. That was fun.
I was siting at the light, talking to the guy in the 5.0. He was so sure he was gonna beat me. Guess he got it soved down his throat. Weird, even I figured he would smoke me.

Gotta love it...

Wheels

Yea...I know this is off the subject of the whole Grand National thing that has been talked about...But the whole F-body G-body wheels work...I used to have Olds Cutlass Rally Rims on my 'Bird for a while...Mostly because I bought 4 brand new Kelly Chargers with the rims for $125 off a buddy of mine....Thats about all I have to say...

Doesn't the answer have to do with lugnuts? Same wheel, the size or lugnut shape???
