One last request so I don't do something unneeded

As some of you might know, I'm replacing the interior in my car with all black panels, black ACC carpet, a set of new seats, pretty much all new stuff. I've searched for a set of black GTA door panels (the molded plastic kind) and nobody has any (Hawks or any other one of the sponsors of the site). If you have some and are willing to get ride of some (or trade?) of if you know where some are located it'd make this swap all the much cleaner. My current plans (since I don't have the door panels to match) is to sand and paint them with leather/vinyl interior paint. I've heard they may scratch easy...that's disturbing. If you have any advice or can find a set of panels, let me know.

Much appreciation to all those that may decide to be of service.

I am sure you tried them but www.tacreationsusa.com. The last I spoke to them, black was the hardest color to come by. Good luck.

I'll try that tomorrow. You really think "House of Camaro" carries TransAm parts?

Well, their website says they do. Here's hoping they're available!

If you paint them it will only be a temp fix until you find black ones in a yard or on the web. They wont scratch as bad as the panels will when painted, but will look a lil off in time. Maybe paint em so it matches for now and dont give up your hunt, there is a place in the sponsers I think that sell the door panels for around160, might want to check again, I think third gen resource

I just checked, they have them for $150, but you will have to call them for your application, they only have silver on the site, but say to call if you need something else. heres the link

Good luck and let us know if they have them, I will be doing that later on this year....

I'm not going to paint them...the upholstory(sp?) shop is going to change the color for me. Along with a nice red leather strip replacing the fabric one.

A word of advice: DO NOT TRY TO DYE SEAT BELTS. It's not worth the time. They came out of the dye (had them completely submerged overnight) a nice black. As they dried (after you rinse) they came back to red. It's about .0005 shades darker red. Again: Not worth the time.

I used RIT Dye. Are you saying you used interior paint (it says for Vinal and Leather)? I might try that. How long has it lasted? This would be a good alternative to what I was going to do...4th gen belts.

yeah, I did the belts with standard rattle can paint, I think from VHT, summit can get it for ya, about $8. I did the panels and they scratched up, but the seat belts are good, they are a bit stiff for a week, but they break in and look good.
