Has any one put in a custom console that runs all the way to the back seats? And are there any seats that go in the back separately, not like the 1 piece back that came in the 3rd gens?

 

I believe that most of the T-A's came with split rear seat backs, at least mine did. I also believe that you can transplant splits into camaros, but I ain't sure.

 

My 89 RS has spit bucket seats in the back. the bottom is all one piece but the back rest are 2 seperate pieces. Not sure about the console

 

i had a split rear in my 91......many late model thirdgen z28's had them.

i put the fourthgen interior in and live with the solid one piece no problem.

as far as consoles, are you wanting something that folds out of the seat back itself or are you trying to integrate something into the rear of the centerconsole?

either way both could be done, the seat back isn't very thick though you could try, and i've seen plenty of people put in additional dvd or headunits in the back of center consoles where the ash tray goes.

 

Any pictures of this that somebody could scavenge up? I have a playstation 2 sitting there that i would like to integrate into the console somehow along with the dreamcast.

Pictures would be great if somebody can find them.

 

I have an 88 gta with a digital dash... If anyone has seen them before i want there opinion on this mod i am planning on doing...
I want to remove the trip counter in the middle and replace it with a tv screen and get Navigation/DVD/Mp3/Cd player for it.

 

Well what I'm planing on doing is to make a console that runs from the dash to the back wall behind the rear seats. But I want to beable to drop the back and have more space for my $hit.. If the idea I'm having is to hard to pull off I may just turn her into a 2-seater. Would save trouble and weight too.

 

The only prob is that the seats fold down flush with the center hump b/w the seats. This is true of teh solid backed seats and the split seats. I have split seats on my 87 base model bird. The window sticker said deluxe interior package though. I put a make shift console back there b/w the rear seats, so I could have a cup holder. The seats will not fold down with it there and its only 2 inch deep.

A console would take some work. It would have to be strong and very short to fit beneath folded down seats and hold any weight.

 

Oh well, I think I'll just ditch the rear seats and make a console for the front.
