3 gauge pod A pillar
3 gauge pod A pillar
I just got my full pillar 3 gauge pod A pillar from Autometer Friday and the damn thing won't fit. I shove it down to where the lowest pod is tight up against the dashpad and the top side is still a full inch or more away from fitting. Has anybody else had this problem?

Zepher, i know that you will be doing that LT1 conversion, but i want to know if you have that air/fuel ratio hooked up to your , motor in the car now? If so how does it work for you, is it alright? I am considering picking one up but i have gotten mixed comments, thanks!

Well, when I had the car running earlier this year, the A/F Gauge was hooked up and working, I don't really think you can tune with it though since it is soo dynamic. Looks very cool though when you are driving.
Right now my car is motorless. My LT4 is sitting in my garage in pieces.

I think Autometer stopped making the 3 gauge pods too. I do know that Summit doesn't sell them anymore because of "constant backorder problems".
But if you got a set Friday, there must be some somewhere...

Ok, I just got the 3 gauge A pillar from Autometer that's supposed to be for the hardtop cars. It doesn't fit any better than the one that was meant to be for the T-Tops. It's like they need to position the pods a little further up the pillar.

I bought the 3 pod one for my ttop car...but decided to use it on the hardtop...all i did was trim a bit of it off and it mounted perfectly.

that was an old picture.
Right now there isn't any brake or clutch pedals, no tranny, no motor, no seats or console and the dash is coming out soon. Carpet will be coming out as well.
I want to paint the interior with that POR-15 to stop rust from forming.

mult68, how did it look after you trimmed it? Where did you trim it? Towards the top, or did you do some trimming on the lowest pod itself?

theres a small gap on the bottom where the two peices meet...but when its on the car, it presses up against the dash pad...so you cant see it anyways

And for those who didnt read the previous post....thats a ttop gauge pod (which I think is still available from Jegs) cut to fit on the hardtop pillar

I originally ordered the t-top version of the full pillar pod. Even on the ttop car I would have to do some trimming though...so I said what the heck...I'll cut it up completely and use it on the hardtop. Hopefully I can still get my hands on another ttop pillar pod for my ttop car.

and in case you were wondering....the full pillar pod from Autometer is misleading...it doesnt actually replace the stock pillar...it merely goes over it (uses pull through plastic peices to hold it to the stock one).....I didnt know this at first....the old Lotek one actually replaced the stock pillar...this was what I thought I was getting....but its a good thing though...cause I heard that the Lotek one had problems with sagging in the middle since it was only attached to the car at the ends.

They are still available. Autometer started making them again. I ordered mine through my local auto parts store.
I ordered it from O'Reilly's for around $64 with tax and shipping and all that good stuff. The first time they ordered me the wrong one and it took a month to get it. After I raised hell, they ordered the right one and I got it 2 days later.
