does this make sense
ok now im not pro rice or anything but it seems like if someone puts something that is not similer to factory or totally diffrent it's rice. for example "the spoiler" now all the ricers put big stupid spoilers on there car for whatever reason but is that rice. if you look at the imsa cars, indy, cart, gtp they all have huge wings (although theirs has a purpose) are they rice. even the roadrunner that was banned from nascar had a massive spoiler on it. even their fart pipes we all do the same thing with our 3 in or bigger flowmasters (but of course ours sound a hell of alot better) i'm just sayin alot of people pull that rice card out way to fast instead of being open minded.

Its not that we dont like tha wings on cars that NEED them, there is a difference in putting a wing on a 200+ MPH car and a 6 cylinder, and putting a 3 inch exhaust system on a 350 to squeeze 10 more horsepower out of it is a lot different than putting a fart can on a Honda to make it sound fast, it sounds like crap to me, but for some reason they think it is intimidating. Rice is defined by the person flaming the car

Why is it all the newbies that bring this up.
If they just did a search, then they would find all the useless bickering they want. And then some..
And the some more.
Followed by more loads of horse sh*t.
Then just when you think you have found it all.
Nope, you just find more.
and More.
Where the hell does it all come from.
And who the hell cares, what, *****, or Rice Burner is classified as.
It's just like saying that someting is gay.

Rice is cosmetic crap put on a economy car to make it look like a race car. Most of the the mods serve no purpose. Like a huge rear spoiler designed originally to give extra downforce on a rear wheel drive car for added traction. On a front wheel drive 120HP car it serves no purpose other than to look like crap. And stickers advertising performance parts that aren't on the vehicle are all considered "rice". There is a difference between a catback exhaust system designed to give better sound and horsepower and a $12.00 Autozone exhaust tip designed to mimick a catback system. Mainly fart cans are more or less gimmicks that ricers often fall for. Ricers are wannabe performance car enthusiasts. They are the typical poser. Talking out their @$$es without any reguard for fact or purpose.
On that note I think that anyone who would try and pretend that their economy car is a race car or sports car of any kind is a retard. If you are going to build up a performance automobile then you should choose something that was designed for it. You can get a F-body or Fox body Mustang (shudder) to do amazing things with a couple grand. If imports are your thing be prepared to spend about 10k to make it fast. If your not ready to put your money where your engine is but want the look, you're a *****. Plain and simple.
Some define rice as putting cosmetics before engine/performance work. In my opinion that is only partly true. If you are changing your wheels out for better looking ones because looks are more important to you than performance that doesn't make you a *****. Now if you act like your car can out run a C5 Corvette, then you are a *****.
In my case I am restoring my cars original appreance before I drop in a new engine. This does not make me a *****. My car is in good running shape and can handle it's own for the most part. I just want to get the cosmetic crap out of the way first before I spend 2k or so on an engine upgrade. But I wouldn't call myself a *****. Then again I don't boast about mods I don't have.

On a more pleasant note I am surprised that I have not found a post in this thread from Mark A. Shields.
This is the only topic I think I have responded to that I haven't seen him post his thoughts on.

My definition
Ricers - Kids/people that get any car, (foreign or domestic) and make modifications to the car based upon the current trend and fashion. If you notice most ricers look alike as well. Ricing has become an extension of fashion sadly. I see honda's pulling 12's at the track and im not hating on them at all. Hell if they have the wings, body kits, stickers, lights, 200Lb rims, etc.. im bound to respect, however the quarter mile vehicles don't.
Ultimately ricers = people whose car is an extension of their fashion rather than a vehicle that they actually like.
