mother %$#@^*&

so I'm driving from Georgia to Texas to go back home from the holidays. I get on I 20 west, and I'm not even on it for an hour when all the sudden my passenger T-Top flies off. I was so pissed. I turned around to make sure it didn't hit anyone, and then I had to go back to my parents house for the night. I looked at the car the next day and one of the brackets that holds the pin to lock the T-Top down had ripped away. I was licky enough to find one on ebay that night that I bought for $20. This after not having it run while I fixed the heater core for 3 days.

I almost had this happen to me in my old SC. I was driving down the highway at like 60 when I heard a banging noise above my head. My T-Top was flapping up and down about half an inch so I quickly rolled the window down far enough to get my hand out and grabbed it and held it down onto the car till I could get it stopped.

I know the feeling, it seems the minute you get something fixed, something else breaks......

Oh well at least you found a cheap one quick, and it wasn't raining out.....

well, it's raining now, even though my car's just sitting outside my apartment. I must've sealed it up pretty good because it leaks less than when I had the T-Top on it. I just had new rotors all around, and new calipers in the back. Now I need new calipers in the front and I have to get new front springs and some new steering components. If you ever have to take your car to a shop, I recomend Merlin's Muffler and Brakes. They've done great work on my car, and were very good to work with. Plus, I was just complaining about the price to my dad while I was in their office, and the manager overheard and gave us 20% off. Plus a reusable 12% off at any location card. Compared to the @$$es at Pep-Boys, these guys were a dream.

my girlfriend takes he car there, well used to. I usually only take my car in for major work. I can't weld on a cat myself. Plus I didn't have much time while I was at home apart from installing the new heater core. quick question. I have no headliner, and water leaks through where one body panel goes over another. can I just put some silicone there to seal it or what? thanks.

sure if its just a body seem in the car that needs sealed up silicone will seal it but if its up around the T Top area its probably the weatherstripping thats leaking

I know it's not that actual T-Top stripping. I have holes in my body up there. They aren't from rust, I can't figure out what would cause this.

it wont hurt to try it anyhow just put it on and see what happens if it doesnt seal then you can just take it back off with a plastic razor blade.

Quick question...

Can i seal the edges around my t-tops were it meets the body (not window) with some of that weather sealer you use on house windows/doors?

I was thinking of just putting a little on the body were the tops contact it, to make a little better seal.

will this work?
