I know I know!!! I looked thru all the topics that came up under "B&M MegaShifter" when I did a search but couldnt find anything about this....
How did you guys with a MegaShifter take the old shifter cable out? I cant get the grommet off the cable to get it thru the hole.
Also did all you guys have to take that metal brace off the center console to make the shifter brackets fit? If you did, did that take away from the console support and make it more flimsy?
thanks guys..

Thanks Alan! yeah I kinda figured thats what I would have to do, theres just no other way to take it off.
Now If any Camaro owner can let me know what they did about the console bracket...if they cut it out or if not how did they move it outta the way cause the B&M rear bracket hits the console bracket when I try to line the bolt holes up....
I want to try and find a way around taking it all the way out if I can...I just think with it not in there the console would be more flimsy...but that just may be me...
let me know guys...
thanks

I cut my grommet, too. (Shouldn't this be on the transmission board??) However, I didn't cut the grommet in half. There's a section that faces the outside of the car, in which the grommet is bonded to the cable. That's the rubber I sliced. I was left with a grommet that was just cut in the center, not all the way through. After routing the cable thru the grommet and thru the floorpan and hooking it up to the trans, I squirted some back silicone (for weatherstripping, by Permatex, for $2.99/squeeze tube) to fix the "hole".

I cut my grommet also, and after everthing was set in place and done, I went in with some blue permatex and made sure that is was sealed up, just to make sure no water would get in.
