As the title says. The reason why I'm asking is I'm in the middle of installing one myself. However, the template that is included with the B&M Megashifter to modify the console cover so that the B&M shifter cover/boot install is nowhere near the right template!

The directions are telling me to line up holes marked "B" with the two holes towards the back of the cover. But the hole's marked "B" on the template is too wide! WTF?!?!?

So, if someone has a good close up pic of their Megashifter installed in a Firebird that would be great!

scauffiel - That's a perfect shot! It looks like you have the plate mounted just below the ashtrey level enough for it to clear (so that you can open it). Is that correct? Also, that white console cover really brings our the shifter!!! Nice work!

It looks a hella lot better than the stock auto one.

Look up in summit .... it tells you hwat it does. It enables you to start out in 1, slam it hard as you want forward into 2nd gear, but only goes one gear at a time. 1 ... bang ... 2.. bang ..... d..... bang .... lala.

 

You know exactly what gear its in and it will not go more than 1 gear at a time. Much better for racing.

 

I like this one better.

I know right, we must have spent 30 minutes holding it to the coffee table trying to figure it out.

 

This isn't that great of pics, but I installed mine without the brackets so it would fit under the stock trim plate. I have since replaced the rubber boot with a pleather made one from walmart I handmade myself... stiching and all.
