Maybe some of us don't have the money like you to get a winter car. Or maybe we don't have the space to keep another car. or maybe we don't have the money insurance on one.

exactly, I enjoy my Trans Am, and all of us enjoy thirdgens. These cars were designed to be driven all year round, not just 'part' of the year. If you have a car, drive it. Yeah i admit they suck for transportation in the snow, but that is a sacrifice i made when making the decision of buying a TA. Besides, mine sits more than driven cuz im a full time student.

my car is sitting for the winter but not by choice, i really cant afford to have two cars but i do. my parents want me to sell the camaro since i'm in college and don't drive it right now, but the only reason i'm not driving it is it has a brand new tranny and it's not yet broken in and adjusted and the 220 mile trip to school is not the optimal time to do it. i'm driving my blazer for the time being and if i were to sell one of my cars it would be the blazer even though it's newer, more reliable, better in the weather ect. i would never be able to live without the camaro

Well since I love driving my SC that I fixed up myself and it rarely snows during winter here I drive it year round without worry. And I would rather walk the 25 miles to work than ever drive a different car that I dont like again. I use to drive a 88 dodge dynasty :barf: If you dont like the snow or cold climate then move to a warmer one.

I pay $2400 in insurance on this one car, I cannot afford to add another. ANd I have no place to keep another. The Camaro isn't all that bad in the snow. I was out today, I live in NY, we have about 18in of snow where I am, roads wern't too well plowed, and I did alright. I couldn't go more than 15 or 20, and but neither could any other non 4wd vehicle. I wasn't getting the greatest traction, but nither was any other car out their. These things do fine in teh snow, as long as you are careful.

Its just the salt you have to worry about. You dont want your rear quarters or rusting out. Thats a PITA to replace or pay a bunch to have replaced.

Yea its the salt that really kills these cars, or any cars! I mean ya the cold sucks, and the snow is a bitch, but all that is fine, and yet while not desirable, are not the real enemy.

SALT, SALT, SALT!!! <------This is the enemy, and this will over time, eat your car away, rust it, and make the underside look like ****!

Salt is the devil! Hehe, but seriously, i know there are some of u who cant have two cars, or have it in the garage, and that sucks.

U guys in the northeast got pounded BIG TIME with snow just now, wow!

Only about 1 1/2 to 2 months, and we should start seeing it better out there in terms of weather.

We got like 19in, people are making a big deal out of nothing. I was driving around in my camaro. The only thing that annoys me is that noone told me that work was closed today, and I drove all the way their to find it closed.

Right now, mine just sits in the parking lot in front of my apartment when it snows. It has been raining for about a week now, and it dropped below freezing last night and all day today, so there is so much ice on the car I doubt I could even get the door open without a prybar.

As long as you wash it every week, no matter the temperature or cleanliness of the roads, your car shouldn't have any problems driving all year round without rusting. My '86 tromps through snow with the best of them, barring the obvious fact that it doesn't have the ground clearance of a Hummer. The T.A. can be a very capable year round driver. The secret to driving through 18" of standing snow? Snow tires!

I use Perelli P2 snows in 215/75/15's and they're awsome! No problems at all going everywhere I wanted to go during the snow storm that just moved through this weekend. Even snow deep enough that it was half way up the front spoiler/bumper!

It must get a little expensive though to be washing your everyday.

Take a minimum of $2 a wash, say 5 days a week u wash it, thats $10, which is $40 a month, and lets say for 6 months? Comes out to about $240....ouch!

I just felt like putting that, im bored at work

that is exactly it, 4wheel/AWD gets you nothing when you are on the brakes.

I drive mine because I blew the motor in my winter driver. So that is the reason I drive mine. When I get some money I am going to get a new car so I can park my Z and do some work on it. Until then I will spin the tires, slide on the road and enjoy every trip in it.
