Anyone have roof flex problems?

Ok, most of you know my car isnt stock, right. Well it runs mid 13's in the right temp. ok, wel when my dad owned the car, he noticed about a 1" tear in the roof right behind the right side window, you know at the top back corner. He welded it together, grinded alittle, welded again, grinded, sanded, then painted it. My question to you is if anyone has had this happen to you before. I talked to a buddy in an auto repair shop, and he said he sees our cars come in all the time with heavy mods done to the car and they accually put dents in the pilliars and rear roof supports! The really weird thing is I have thick steel wall seamless faberacated sfc's. I have noticed that the tear is comming back too! Anyone happen to? Any suggestions? I have two pictures with the tear not focused in very well, just look for what im talking about.

My old Formula had the same problem. When I was parting out the car I noticed a huge rip on the driver side floor board behind the driver seat. I also had the same tear as you're talking about.
BTW-it was an 89 Formula w/350 tpi--these cars have alot of torque stock-so just imagine a few of the right mods!!:O

my TA had inch long cracks in the same spot on the roof, ground down, welded then repainted...they came back a few monthes later, this is with only the LG4 motor...shows how well the unibody design works huh?

I had th same problem with my 84 Z28 (L69).....from factory, they used a lead filler to attach the quater panel....sail panel...to the roof. The lead eventually gets weak and tears.....and has a break in the body. This is what I had to do..........I had to grind out all of the lead.....then...weld in a new piece of metal...added a lil body filler...and it was good as new. It was fine...and still would have been fine.....but...since I was hit....it cracked..and the car is totaled....
